Soothes irritated skin and calms chafing
A bestseller for skin care, offering targeted relief for irritation, chafing, rashes and areas prone to friction, such as the underarms, bikini line and inner thighs. The concentrated formula contains 20% zinc oxide, which forms a protective layer on the skin, helps shield it from moisture and reduces discomfort. A rich complex of BIO coconut, grape seed, apricot kernel and hemp seed oils is complemented by shea and cocoa butter and beeswax. Together, they soften the skin and protect it from excessive dryness. Tea tree oil supports care for problem skin, while rosemary extract and natural vitamin E provide antioxidant protection. The result is a multi-purpose ointment for areas that need soothing and protection.
What the ointment helps with
- Chafed skin: helps reduce redness and discomfort caused by moisture and friction. Its high zinc content forms a protective barrier on the skin, while wax, butters and oils keep it soft and supple.
- Acne-prone skin: targets spots, absorbs excess moisture and helps dry their surface. Tea tree oil complements care for acne-prone skin.
- Irritation after shaving and friction: protects areas under strain, such as the underarms, bikini line and inner thighs. The rich lipid formula helps ease the burning sensation and protects the skin from further friction.
- Sensitive and reddened areas: soothes and softens them, helping restore a comfortable feel. BIO oils, butters and natural vitamin E also help prevent excessive skin dryness.
Who it’s for
The zinc ointment is suitable for all skin types. It is especially suited to:
- babies’ very delicate skin,
- skin prone to spots and chafing,
- problem skin with localised blemishes,
- irritated areas after shaving or areas prone to friction.
Key ingredients
- Zinc 20%: a mineral ingredient that forms a protective barrier on the skin, helps shield it from moisture and soothes irritated areas. In a randomised study involving 50 infants, use of the product was associated with a lower incidence of nappy rash.
- Tea tree oil: an essential oil traditionally used in skin care for problem skin. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 60 participants, it improved the signs of mild to moderate acne.
- Rosemary extract: an antioxidant extract from rosemary leaves that helps protect skin lipids and the oils in the formula from oxidation. A laboratory study demonstrated its antioxidant activity and a reduction in inflammatory markers.
- BIO lipid complex: BIO grape seed, apricot kernel and hemp seed oils, together with shea and cocoa butter, replenish the skin with emollient lipids. They balance the drying effect of zinc and help keep treated areas soft, supple and comfortable.
- Natural vitamin E: an antioxidant blend of tocopherols that helps protect skin lipids and the plant oils in the formula from oxidation. In a clinical study involving 13 volunteers, the substance increased the amount of vitamin E in the skin.
The formula is complemented by BIO shea and cocoa butter and BIO beeswax.
Texture
The rich balm-like cream texture softens with the warmth of the skin and spreads easily into an even layer. It leaves a distinctive white protective veil that stays in place and gives the skin a lasting feeling of protection. The subtle herbal scent of tea tree underlines its clean, caring character.
How to use
Apply a small amount to irritated skin in the evening and spread it out. Any lumps on the surface of the ointment are BIO beeswax, which melts at body temperature.

It is produced by burning zinc vapour in a stream of air. When exposed to air, it absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide and turns into zinc oxide. Zinc is a soft metal with a low melting point. It has been used since the Middle Ages, and its presence in the diet is essential for the proper development of the body. It is relatively abundant in the Earth's crust, with an average content of approximately 100 mg/kg. Its concentration in seawater is also quite high – 0,01 milligrams per litre. The main zinc mineral is zincite. An odourless white powder with the chemical formula ZnO, it may look unassuming, but it has a wide range of uses in natural cosmetics. It is an active ingredient in deodorants and an antiseptic, antibacterial protective agent for acne or irritation on babies' bottoms or feet. Zinc has antibacterial properties, reduces inflammation and can curb the excessive sebum production that causes acne. In deodorants, it absorbs excess moisture, but most importantly, its antibacterial action prevents bacteria from breaking down and multiplying, and from breaking down sweat, which is the main cause of odour. Zinc oxide does not penetrate the skin; it stays on the surface, forming a protective barrier.
Zinc oxide restores the skin barrier by forming a physical protective layer on the skin's surface, preventing harmful substances and UV radiation from penetrating. It acts as a broad-spectrum mineral UV filter, reflecting both UVA and UVB rays like a mirror to provide photostable protection without losing effectiveness. It has antibacterial properties, binding to proteins in the cell membranes of bacteria such as staphylococci and E. coli and disrupting their permeability. It soothes inflammation, supports wound healing and absorbs excess moisture. In deodorants, it regulates sebum production and suppresses odour. Recommended concentrations: 2-10 % in emulsions, 1-60 % in mineral cosmetics, typically 15-25 % in sunscreens for SPF protection.
It is recommended for sensitive, dry, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin. It is ideal for children with nappy rash, people with atopic eczema, and acne-prone skin to reduce inflammation and excess sebum production. It is suitable for people with sensitive skin looking for natural UV protection without chemical filters, including pregnant women and allergy sufferers. In mineral make-up, it mattifies the skin and covers imperfections. Avoid nanoparticles due to potential risks; opt for microparticles that do not leave a white cast.
A study by Dunford et al. (1997) showed that zinc oxide nanoparticles generate reactive oxygen species under UV radiation, damaging the DNA of skin cells. A study by Sharma et al. (2009) confirmed that ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles react with UV radiation and cause damage to skin cells. An official study of ALPHANOVA products demonstrated that mineral filters, including ZnO, remain on the skin's surface and do not penetrate the barrier.
Virgin coconut oil is obtained from the flesh of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). Its unique properties make it one of the oils with a very wide range of external uses. A characteristic feature is its solid consistency, which becomes liquid at around 24 °C. It is a source of vitamins A, C and E. Virgin coconut oil is made up of acids known as natural antibiotics. It contains beneficial fatty acids, particularly lauric acid, which accounts for almost 50 %. This acid is also found in breast milk, where it serves as an easily digestible component and helps protect the developing immune system against viruses and infections. Lauric acid has natural antiviral properties. Other acids found in the oil help destroy yeasts, fungi and viruses by disrupting their membranes. They are then easily neutralised by white blood cells. The oil is obtained by mechanically pressing fresh coconut flesh, using methods such as wet milling or quick drying, which preserve its natural properties and delicate coconut aroma.
Coconut oil is an excellent emollient that moisturises the skin by forming a protective layer to prevent water loss, restores the skin barrier and acts as an antioxidant against free radicals. It has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties thanks to its high concentration of lauric acid (up to 50 %), which disrupts the membranes of pathogens. It soothes irritation, helps regenerate the skin and supports collagen production. It penetrates deeply into the skin and hair, softening them and protecting them against external factors such as UV radiation. At concentrations of 5-10 % in cosmetic formulations, it effectively hydrates and strengthens the barrier without clogging pores when used correctly.
It is particularly recommended for dry, sensitive, dehydrated and mature skin, providing intensive hydration and regeneration. It is suitable for skin irritated by shaving, sun exposure or eczema. It gives normal skin suppleness and radiance. It is not ideal for oily or acne-prone skin due to its higher comedogenic rating, although derivatives may be safer. It is also excellent for low-porosity hair, helping to reduce breakage and support growth.
A study published in the International Journal of Dermatology (2008) showed that applying virgin coconut oil to dry skin significantly improved hydration and reduced transepidermal water loss by 20-30 % compared with mineral oil after 2 weeks of use. Further research in the Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (2017) confirmed that lauric acid from coconut oil inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus by 99 % at a concentration of 0,5-1 %.
Grapeseed oil is obtained from the seeds of ripe grapes. It is highly valued for its mild, delicate taste and unique health benefits. Producing one litre of oil requires up to 50 kg of red grape seeds. The seeds have been shown to strengthen the immune system and effectively combat free radicals. The oil contains active substances such as fats, vitamins A, B, C, E and F, and omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 unsaturated fatty acids. Grape seeds have a range of valuable properties and contain a high concentration of vitamin E, which is widely known for its antioxidant properties. Thanks to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (up to 76 % linoleic acid), the oil prevents inflammation. Grapeseed oil has the lowest saturated fatty acid content, contains no cholesterol or sodium, and is rich in flavonoids. Procyanidin has a strong antioxidant effect, similar to vitamins C and E, but is 20x more potent than vitamin C and 50x more potent than vitamin E. This natural oil is cold-pressed from grape seeds, preserving its bioactive compounds, including polyphenols with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is a by-product of the wine industry, making it environmentally sustainable.
Grapeseed oil moisturises the skin thanks to its lightweight texture and essential fatty acids, such as linoleic acid (up to 76 %), which restores the skin barrier and prevents moisture loss. It acts as a powerful antioxidant thanks to its high content of vitamin E and proanthocyanidins, which neutralise free radicals and protect against oxidative stress. It has anti-inflammatory and soothing effects, reduces redness and supports healing. It also strengthens collagen fibres, slows the breakdown of hyaluronic acid and improves skin elasticity. In cosmetics, it is recommended at concentrations of 5-20 % in emulsions, or as a few drops of pure oil. Unlike other oils, it can be heated to high temperatures without losing quality, which is an advantage in cosmetic production.
It is particularly recommended for oily, combination, acne-prone, sensitive, dehydrated and mature skin, as it absorbs quickly, does not clog pores and regulates sebum production. Its antibacterial properties make it ideal for problem skin with blemishes, eczema or rosacea. For mature skin, it supports an anti-ageing effect, smooths wrinkles and evens out skin tone. It is also suitable for dry skin, helping to restore the barrier without leaving a greasy film.
A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food (2009) showed that taking grape seed extract orally at a dose of 194 mg daily significantly improved the symptoms of melasma (hyperpigmentation) after 60 days in women with dark skin. Further research in Phytotherapy Research (2011) showed that topical application of grapeseed oil at a concentration of 3 % increased collagen synthesis by 22 % in fibroblast cells after 7 days in vitro. These results confirm its effectiveness in protecting against UV damage and improving skin elasticity. Unlike other oils, grapeseed oil can be heated to high temperatures without losing its quality or value. It contains essential nutrients, such as vitamins and trace elements. B vitamins and minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium are the most abundant. The oil has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. It supplies the skin with vitamins and softens it, prevents premature ageing, smooths and protects the skin against the loss of natural moisture, soothes the skin and restores a feeling of comfort. It stimulates each skin cell's own defences, strengthens collagen fibres, has a lightweight texture and absorbs quickly. One of its exceptional properties is its ability to slow the breakdown of hyaluronic acid, which is responsible for maintaining the skin's necessary moisture levels. Grapeseed oil is excellent and particularly suitable for combination, oily and problem skin.
This pale yellow fat is obtained by pressing fermented, dried, roasted and crushed cocoa beans and pulp, known as the food of the gods. This natural product is rich in vitamin E and provides minerals and other substances, including manganese, zinc, copper, theobromine, iron, chromium, magnesium, potassium, and omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. Saturated fatty acids make up most of its composition (57 – 64 %), giving it exceptional emollient properties. In traditional medicine, it was used for various purposes, from wound healing to pain relief, and today it is a staple ingredient in natural cosmetics thanks to its purity and minimal processing.
Its main action is to intensely moisturise and restore the skin barrier, with saturated fatty acids such as stearic and palmitic acid forming a protective film that prevents moisture loss. It also acts as an antioxidant thanks to vitamin E and polyphenols, which neutralise free radicals and protect against oxidative stress. It supports collagen production, helping to prevent wrinkles and other signs of ageing. It soothes irritated skin, reduces inflammation and speeds up regeneration. At concentrations of 5-20 % in emulsions, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity. A clinical study showed that applying a formulation containing 10 % increased skin hydration by 25 % after 4 weeks (Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2018).
It is particularly recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, where it effectively tackles flaking and loss of elasticity. It is ideal for skin affected by atopic dermatitis, eczema and burns, where it soothes itching and supports healing. It is also suitable for oily skin at low concentrations, as a lip balm or applied locally to dry areas, without clogging pores. It is not recommended in high concentrations for acne-prone skin because of its comedogenicity. Traditional uses include treating dry lips, rheumatism and insect bites, as documented in historical records from Amazonian cultures.
Another study confirmed that cocoa butter at a concentration of 15 % reduced transepidermal water loss by 30 % and improved elasticity by 18 % in women with dry skin after 6 weeks (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2015). These polyphenolic compounds contribute to its anti-inflammatory effect, with a 22 % reduction in inflammation in in vitro tests (Food Chemistry, 2012).
This natural emulsifying ingredient is derived from a combination of sorbitol, a sugar alcohol, and fatty acids from sunflower oil. It is a biodegradable ingredient of natural origin, approved under the COSMOS standard and suitable for eco-friendly cosmetics. It has a wax-like structure and comes in ivory-coloured flakes with a melting point between 65 and 75°C. Its dual chemical nature combines a lipophilic part (fatty acids from oil) and a hydrophilic part (the polyalcohol group of sorbitol), allowing it to act as an effective bridge between oil and water components in cosmetic formulations.
This ingredient works by forming stable water-in-oil emulsions that mimic the skin’s natural lipid barrier. It improves hydration and helps the skin retain moisture, restoring and strengthening its protective function. At a concentration of 5 to 7,5 per cent, it acts as a primary emulsifier, while at lower levels of 1 to 2 per cent, it works as a co-emulsifier. Its moisturising action is supported by emollient properties that leave the skin feeling soft and comfortable without greasiness. The ingredient also improves the absorption of other active ingredients by creating an ordered crystal structure within the emulsion.
This ingredient is ideal for people with dry, sensitive or dehydrated skin. Its gentle, non-irritating nature also makes it suitable for very sensitive and young skin. Research findings confirm its safety and effectiveness in cosmetic applications. It is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores or contribute to acne. Products containing this ingredient have natural-origin credentials, are suitable for vegans and meet halal cosmetic requirements.
Clinical experience has shown that emulsions formulated with 8 per cent of this ingredient in combination with a 50 per cent oil phase provide a soft, rich texture that absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy feel. Enriched formulations with a higher oil content (60 per cent) and 10 per cent of this ingredient create richer creams that absorb at a moderate rate and are suitable for caring for dry skin in winter. Its ability to improve resistance to being washed off by water makes it particularly suitable for sunscreens and water-resistant cosmetic products.
It is obtained by cold-pressing apricot kernels. This oil is distinctive for its content of vitamins B15, B17 and B19, which are not found in any other oil. It also contains a large amount of potassium and unsaturated essential fatty acids – palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic, oleic and linoleic acids. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, B15, B17 (laetrile), B19, A, C and F. Apricot oil comes from the kernels of Prunus armeniaca, commonly known as the apricot tree, which is grown in the temperate climates of Asia and Europe. Cold pressing preserves the natural components without chemical processing, making it ideal for organic cosmetics. A refined version can also be produced by hot pressing, but the cold-pressed method is preferred for its higher quality. The presence of vitamin E and polyphenols provides antioxidant properties that protect against oxidative stress. Potassium supports hydration and the skin's mineral balance.
It helps hydrate, soothe, revitalise and soften the skin without leaving a greasy feel, while also preventing wrinkles and supporting collagen production. Its moisturising action comes from essential fatty acids, which restore the skin barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss. The antioxidant effects of vitamins A, C and E neutralise free radicals, slowing down ageing. It soothes irritation and gently exfoliates by removing dead skin cells. Vitamin B17 (amygdalin) has anti-inflammatory properties. The recommended concentration in cosmetics is 5-20 % for oils and emulsions, with higher concentrations of up to 100 % for use on its own.
Its gentle nature makes it suitable for all skin types. It is recommended for dry, delicate and sensitive to extremely sensitive skin, as well as for the skin of newborns and young children. It is ideal for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, which it hydrates and regenerates. For oily and acne-prone skin, it helps regulate sebum without clogging pores, thanks to its low comedogenicity. It is recommended for breastfeeding mothers to help prevent stretch marks, and for soothing eczema. In children's skincare, it reduces the risk of irritation.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2014) demonstrated that applying apricot oil at a concentration of 10 % increased skin hydration by 25 % after 4 weeks in women with dry skin (Dimitrios et al., 2014). Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2019) showed that linoleic acid from the oil improved collagen synthesis by 18 % in vitro (Lin et al., 2019).
Shea butter is a plant-based fat with a fairly thick, semi-firm consistency. It is obtained from the nuts of the shea tree, also known as karité. This tree grows in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in the western part of the continent, where the nuts are gathered by hand by women in traditional communities. Cultivation and processing play a very important role in its quality, ensuring that all its valuable properties are preserved. The organic version comes from certified organic plantations without pesticides and is processed by cold pressing or traditional grinding, preserving its natural scent and colour. It contains a high proportion of vitamins A, E and F. It also contains valuable natural healing waxes, rare plant sterols, karitenes and unsaturated fatty acids, such as stearic, oleic and linoleic acid. Its composition closely resembles the skin's protective film, making it particularly effective and suitable even for sensitive skin and children's skin. In its organic form, it contains no chemical additives and is not refined, which increases its bioavailability.
It works by intensely moisturising the skin and restoring the skin barrier, thanks to its high content of fatty acids that mimic the skin's lipids. As a powerful antioxidant, it protects against free radicals through vitamins A and E. It has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, supports wound healing and stimulates collagen production, restoring elasticity. At a concentration of 5-20 % in creams, it significantly improves hydration and reduces dryness. Shea butter conditions, moisturises and rejuvenates the skin. It nourishes the skin, supports collagen production and restores skin elasticity. It stimulates cellular activity in the skin, helping to prevent wrinkles, uneven skin texture, dark spots, enlarged pores and other concerns associated with skin ageing. It protects the skin from sunlight, helps wounds heal and has anti-inflammatory properties. It helps treat dry skin and psoriasis, while its antibacterial properties also make it a suitable addition to creams for acne-prone and blemish-prone skin.
Recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, as well as children with atopic skin. Also suitable for oily and acne-prone skin at low concentrations, where it regulates sebum and fights bacteria without clogging pores. Ideal for eczema, psoriasis or burns, where it soothes irritation.
A study published in the Journal of Oleo Science (2010) showed that shea butter at a concentration of 10 % increased skin hydration by 25 % after 4 weeks of application in people with dry skin. Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2018) reports that triterpene esters from shea butter inhibit inflammatory mediators by 40 % in vitro, supporting the healing of acne. A clinical study involving 20 volunteers showed that daily application of 15 % shea butter reduced transepidermal water loss by 32 % over 28 days (Skin Research and Technology, 2015).
Beeswax is a natural product containing more than 280 active substances: hydrocarbons, fatty acid alkyl esters, free acids and proteins. Beeswax is rich in vitamin A, with just 100 grams of wax containing 4 096 units of vitamin A. Vitamin A is important for the growth and renewal of certain skin tissues. It is a natural product produced by bees from wax glands on their hind legs and used to build honeycombs. Organic beeswax is pure, free from contaminants and pesticides, and sourced from organic apiaries. Synthetic versions also exist, mimicking its structure for cosmetic purposes, but the organic extract retains the full spectrum of natural bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, chrysin and squalene.
It helps maintain moisture in the skin. A lack of it can cause skin dryness, loss of elasticity and itching. It is also very effective at tackling fine lines. Organic beeswax is a pure, uncontaminated product that retains its healing properties. It works wonders on skin injuries and conditions. Beeswax has antioxidant and antiseptic properties, helping to regenerate and soften the skin. It revitalises and warms the skin, stimulating circulation. It works by moisturising through a hydrophobic barrier that minimises transepidermal water loss (TEWL), restoring the skin barrier, providing antioxidant protection through carotenoids and flavonoids, soothing irritation and offering mild antiseptic properties. In cosmetics, it is used at concentrations of 1-5 % for emulsification and to form a protective film.
We recommend it for dry, sensitive, cracked, dehydrated and mature skin, as well as acne-prone and eczema-prone skin. It is ideal for people with atopic eczema or psoriasis, for nappy rash, or to help prevent dry skin in children and adults. Non-comedogenic, it does not clog pores and is suitable for oily, dehydrated skin. Suitable for all age groups, including pregnant women, provided there is no allergy.
A study published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology (2014) showed that a mixture of honey, beeswax and olive oil applied three times a day for 4 weeks significantly improved itching and fungal skin infections in patients with dermatitis. Further research in the Korean Journal of Internal Medicine (2013) confirmed the antioxidant effects of beeswax alcohols in protecting the liver, supporting its systemic benefits. A clinical study from 2014 demonstrated reduced joint pain and stiffness in 23 patients with osteoarthritis following wax application.
It is green in colour, contains many important nutrients and is excellent both for skin care and for consumption. It contains high levels of essential fatty acids, particularly linoleic and linolenic acid. It also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E, phytosterols, chlorophyll and lecithin. Hemp oil has powerful antioxidant properties and helps combat premature skin ageing. It is obtained by pressing the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant, ideally cold-pressed to preserve its nutrients, and is available in organic, THC-free form.
Hemp oil intensely moisturises the skin thanks to its high content of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which restore the lipid barrier and maintain hydration without leaving a greasy film. It has anti-inflammatory properties, soothes irritation and supports regeneration, including wound healing and increased collagen production. Its antioxidant properties protect against free radicals and premature ageing, while its antimicrobial effects combat bacteria, fungi and viruses. It contains ceramides and GLA, which increase serum levels of essential fatty acids.
It is suitable for all skin types, especially very dry, hypersensitive, sensitive children's skin, dehydrated, oily, acne-prone and mature skin. It is recommended for skin conditions such as atopic eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, fungal infections, seborrhoea and skin irritation caused by trapped moisture. It regulates sebum production, helps prevent clogged pores and reduces redness, making it ideal for acne-prone skin without the risk of clogging pores (comedogenic rating 0).
Clinical studies confirm the effectiveness of essential fatty acids from hemp oil in chronic inflammatory skin conditions. For example, applying hemp oil with GLA (1-4 %) significantly improved hydration and reduced inflammation in patients with atopic eczema after 20 weeks (Journal of Dermatological Treatment, 2005). Another study showed that topical application of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (including ALA 18-20 %) reduced itching and dryness by 60 % in patients with psoriasis (British Journal of Dermatology, 2014).
Bicarbonate of soda was known as far back as ancient Egypt, around 3500 BC, where it was used in the form of natron, a natural mixture of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, mainly for mummifying the dead. Over time, its beneficial effects on the stomach, as well as on the body and health in general, became recognised. It is mainly manufactured from natural materials using the Solvay process, although it also occurs naturally and is produced by the body during breathing and digestion. Bicarbonate of soda has excellent skin-cleansing properties. It reduces inflammation and removes dead skin cells. It is great for tackling blackheads, as it can thoroughly cleanse pores. Above all, bicarbonate of soda is excellent at removing oil, sweat and dead skin. It is an entirely natural substance with no synthetic additives, gentle on both people and the environment.
It is known that, when bathing or showering, our bodies absorb a small but significant amount of water through the pores. Water combined with bicarbonate of soda, which is alkaline, can effectively help counter excess acidity in the body from the outside. Thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, bicarbonate of soda removes underarm body odour as well as odours associated with fungal infections. Its chemical composition allows it to react with odour molecules and neutralise them on contact, tackling not only odour but also moisture.
It acts as a mild abrasive that mechanically exfoliates dead skin cells, clears clogged pores and removes excess sebum. Its alkaline nature helps regulate the skin's pH, neutralise acids and reduce inflammation. For gentle cleansing without irritation, a concentration of around 10-20 % is recommended in exfoliating pastes mixed with water or oil. It absorbs impurities and sweat, helping to restore the skin's balance. A study in the Journal of Clinical Dentistry showed that toothpaste containing 40-65 % bicarbonate of soda removed significantly more plaque and surface stains than toothpaste without it after 4 weeks of use. Further research confirmed that bicarbonate of soda at a concentration of 5 % in exfoliating formulations reduces the number of blackheads by 25 % in 2 weeks.
It is particularly recommended for oily, acne-prone skin with blackheads and clogged pores, where it effectively controls sebum and cleanses the skin. It is also suitable for regular exfoliation of normal skin, but those with dry or sensitive skin should avoid it, as frequent use can disrupt the skin barrier and cause irritation or dryness. For mature skin, it is useful at low concentrations for gentle smoothing, but should always be combined with hydrating ingredients. Do not use daily; ideally, use in scrubs 1-2x a week.
100 % natural vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant containing a blend of alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherols. Vitamin E helps protect the skin from UV damage and improves skin texture and moisture levels. Our natural vitamin E contains no chemicals or solvents. Vitamin E supports the skin’s defences and fights the signs of skin ageing – it can improve texture, smooth the skin, increase elasticity, reduce wrinkles and help prevent age spots. It is derived from plant oils such as wheat germ, sunflower and hazelnut oils, in which it naturally occurs at high concentrations, for example 149 mg per 100 g in wheat germ oil. It is a purely natural organic extract with no synthetic additives, retaining its full biological activity.
It renews cells, boosts circulation in the skin and helps retain water in the upper layers of the skin. This vitamin has a very beneficial effect on overall skin vitality, helps with various forms of inflammation and damage, and contributes to scar healing. Vitamin E is the best natural antioxidant. It neutralises free radicals in the skin, slowing the ageing process and reducing fine lines. This vitamin is particularly suitable for use during summer, as it protects the skin from the effects of UV radiation. It works by neutralising free radicals, restoring the skin barrier, providing deep hydration by binding moisture in the stratum corneum and strengthening the protective barrier, offering antioxidant protection against UV and pollution, and soothing inflammation through its anti-inflammatory action. At concentrations of 0,5-5 % in cosmetics, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity.
It is recommended for dry, sensitive, mature and dehydrated skin, as well as skin exposed to environmental stress, sunlight or ageing. It is ideal for those seeking natural protection against wrinkles, pigmentation spots and loss of elasticity, including those with acne-prone skin and scarring, thanks to its healing properties.
A study by Gensler et al. showed that applying d-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate to the skin reduces lipid peroxide formation and oxidative stress, protecting skin cells from damage and providing photoprotective effects. Further research confirms that vitamin E combined with vitamin C increases protection against UVA radiation and supports collagen production. These findings highlight its effectiveness at concentrations commonly used in cosmetics.
Lavender is an aromatic medicinal plant. This beautiful, lush shrub grows mainly on the sunny slopes of the Mediterranean, where it was valued by the ancient Egyptians for embalming and in perfumes. Its wonderful scent never tires and always surprises with its boundless energy, revitalising a tired body and soothing muscular and nervous tension. Lavender supports the skin's natural defences, soothes skin after sun exposure and has a beneficial effect on burns. Lavender oil has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and is used to treat eczema and fungal infections. It supports the healing of damaged skin and is an excellent insect repellent. Obtained by distilling the flowers of narrow-leaved lavender, it is 100% natural and environmentally friendly. It contains phytosterols, flavonoids, tannins, coumarin, linalyl acetate and linalool, which contribute to its rejuvenating and astringent properties.
Lavender oil soothes irritated skin, has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, regenerates skin and speeds up wound healing. It moisturises dry and dehydrated skin, helping it retain moisture and restore its protective barrier. It has powerful antioxidant properties thanks to flavonoids, which protect against free radicals. The antibacterial properties of linalool and linalyl acetate help regulate sebum production and reduce inflammation. In cosmetics, it is used at concentrations of 0,5-2% in creams, toners and shampoos for all skin types.
Recommended for dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin. It soothes sensitive and eczema-prone skin, reducing redness and irritation. For oily and acne-prone skin, it regulates sebum and fights bacteria. For mature skin, it slows ageing and supports elasticity. It is also suitable for skin affected by psoriasis, dermatitis or burns, where it speeds up regeneration.
A study demonstrated that lavender oil from Lavandula angustifolia and linalyl acetate have a strong inhibitory effect on inflammation in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis (Journal of Ethnopharmacology, research data cited in analyses). Further research showed that application at a concentration of 1-3% reduces inflammatory markers by 40% in patients with eczema after 4 weeks (Phytotherapy Research, 2018).
It helps relax stiff muscles after sport or physical exertion. Lavender drives away “impure thoughts” and strengthens the ego. A hint of lavender can lift your mood, as the sense of smell can significantly influence brain function. It eases nervous tension and is excellent for insomnia and headaches.
The extract contains antiseptic, antibacterial, disinfectant and fungicidal substances, as well as a high level of bioflavonoids. These active ingredients may contribute to the microbial balance of the body's organs and tissues. Grapefruit seed extract is highly effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens and is very effective at preventing putrefaction. Various types of bacteria, viruses, moulds and yeasts are recognised as contributing factors in a range of illnesses, including skin conditions. Grapefruit seed extract is effective at killing bacteria and pathogens and slowing their growth. Our grapefruit seed extract is completely free from contamination with parabens or triclosan. It is produced by grinding grapefruit seeds and pulp without synthetic agents, then mixing them with glycerine, ensuring natural purity and a high content of bioflavonoids such as naringin.
Its action is primarily based on strong antimicrobial properties, including antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral effects, which restore the skin's microbial balance. It also soothes irritated skin, disinfects and supports regeneration. As an antioxidant, it protects cells from free radicals thanks to its bioflavonoids and vitamins C and B. In cosmetics, it is used at concentrations of around 60 % extract in glycerine, for example 3 drops in 50 ml of water for topical application, allowing effective cleansing without drying out the skin.
It is particularly recommended for problem skin affected by acne, inflammation, itching, eczema or dandruff. It is ideal for sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin, where it helps control microbes and reduce redness. It is also suitable for dehydrated or irritated skin following grazes, insect bites or burns, as it supports healing without chemical preservatives.
A study published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine demonstrated that grapefruit seed extract is highly effective at stopping the growth of yeasts and moulds, including Candida albicans, Geotrichum, Aspergillus and Penicillium sp., confirming its antifungal properties. Further research showed that it inhibits up to 800 bacterial and viral strains and 100 species of mould, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella.
Rosemary is an evergreen shrub with an intense camphor-like, spicy scent and a bitter taste. This aromatic herb is native to the warm, sunny Mediterranean, although it can be grown almost anywhere as long as you bring it indoors during the cold winter months. Its green, needle-like leaves have various uses in cooking and natural medicine, which uses fresh or dried herbs to prepare teas, tinctures or capsules containing dried powdered extract. The extract is obtained from the leaves, flowers or whole plant in the form of infusions, oils or hydrolats, and may be natural, organic or, in rare cases, synthetically modified for stability in cosmetics. Rosemary is rich in vitamins C and B6 and minerals such as iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium and manganese, contributing to its wide range of uses in skin and hair care.
Rosemary extract contains essential oil (whose main constituents are terpenes and terpene esters, including borneol and cineole), tannins, bitter compounds, resin, saponins and other substances such as rosmarinic and caffeic acids. It supports circulation, helps promote calm and relieves nervous exhaustion. Rosemary extract reduces skin swelling and acne, and also helps with eczema. It supports circulation. It has antimicrobial properties that destroy bacteria, fungi and viruses, giving it antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects. As a powerful antioxidant, it neutralises free radicals, protects cells from oxidative stress and supports collagen production. It stimulates cell renewal, improves skin hydration, strengthens the skin barrier and regulates sebum production. Typical concentrations in cosmetics range from 0,5 % to 2 % in serums and creams for optimal effects without irritation.
It is particularly recommended for oily, acne-prone and blemish-prone skin with enlarged pores, sensitive skin prone to inflammation, eczema or dermatitis, and mature skin showing signs of ageing. It is also suitable for dehydrated or tired skin, helping to revitalise and tone it. In scalp care, it is ideal for dandruff, oiliness or weakened hair, helping to stimulate growth and cleanse the scalp. Those with highly sensitive skin should start with lower concentrations, as the essential oil may cause irritation.
Rosemary extract has properties that destroy bacteria, fungi and viruses on the skin, making it ideal for use on minor wounds and burns, or on problem skin affected by dermatitis, acne, eczema or psoriasis. The oil helps stimulate cell renewal and supports healthy healing, while also moisturising the skin and improving circulation in the skin. It has many benefits, from hydrating the skin and supporting healthy collagen development to fighting free radicals that damage the skin. The antioxidants in rosemary help prevent skin damage and enhance skin toning by neutralising free radicals. Free radical damage disrupts the skin's supporting structure, leading to wrinkles, sagging and uneven skin tone. This aromatic herb is a good source of iron, calcium and vitamin B6, which supports healthy collagen levels. Rosemary is also a rich source of manganese, a mineral that helps minimise wrinkles and protects the skin from damage. Rosemary extract is up to 1,6 times more effective as an antioxidant than vitamin E thanks to its caffeic and rosmarinic acids (Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001). Rosmarinic acid at a concentration of 0,01 % inhibits the growth of acne-associated bacteria by 90 % in vitro (Phytotherapy Research, 2013).
It is obtained from the tea tree, which grows in Australia. The oil has a thin, watery consistency and a pale, slightly yellow colour. Tea tree extracts can help rid the skin of various types of inflammation and infection. This makes it suitable for treating acne or cold sores. It also helps heal cuts, insect bites, burns and sunburn. This essential oil is obtained by distilling the leaves and branch tips of a tree native to the Australian coast of New South Wales and Queensland. It is a 100% plant-based organic extract without synthetic additives, known for its strong, eucalyptus-like aroma. Indigenous peoples have used it for centuries in traditional Australian medicine to disinfect wounds and prevent infections. Today, it is grown organically to preserve its natural properties and is highly concentrated, so it is always diluted with a carrier oil.
It is used as a powerful **antibacterial** and **anti-inflammatory** agent that kills bacteria, viruses and fungi without damaging the surrounding healthy skin. It **soothes** irritation, **stimulates wound healing** by supporting cell regeneration and **restores the skin barrier**. It also has **antioxidant** effects that protect against free radicals. It can also achieve excellent results in treating fungal infections of the nails or skin on the feet. Tea tree essential oil is highly effective at stimulating the immune system. It also effectively kills various bacteria, viruses and fungi. It relieves and soothes most symptoms associated with skin irritation or infections. In cosmetics, it is used at a concentration of 1-5 % in formulations, with a 5 % gel containing this oil significantly reducing the number of acne lesions.
It is particularly recommended for **acne-prone**, **oily** and **blemish-prone skin**, where it regulates sebum production and minimises pores. It is also ideal for **sensitive skin** prone to inflammation, cold sores or eczema, as well as **dehydrated** or **damaged skin** following burns and bites. It is suitable for adults with **mature skin**, where it supports healing and helps prevent infections. Do not use undiluted on the face of children or pregnant women; always dilute it and carry out a patch test.
A clinical study from 1990 showed that a gel containing 5 % tea tree oil reduced the total number of acne lesions by 43,6 % and inflammatory lesions by 40,5 % after 45 days of treatment in patients with mild to moderate acne (Journal of Family Practice, 1990). Further research confirmed that, at a concentration of 5 %, it has an antibacterial effect against Propionibacterium acnes comparable to that of 5 % benzoyl peroxide, but with less redness (Australasian Journal of Dermatology, 1995).
Small packaging with maximum protection
When choosing packaging for LucyLab samples, we weren’t looking for a smaller version of the standard pack. We needed packaging that could keep a small amount of cosmetics in the best possible condition until it was opened. That’s why we use single-use cosmetic sachets with a volume of 2–5 ml, made from high-barrier, three-layer PET / ALU / PE laminate.
Three layers, each with its own purpose
The packaging consists of 12 µm PET / 9 µm aluminium foil / 75 µm PE, with a surface weight of approximately 114 g/m². PET gives the pack strength and dimensional stability, PE forms a flexible inner layer suitable for reliable heat sealing, and the aluminium foil provides the key barrier. It blocks light and UV radiation and effectively protects the contents from oxygen and moisture. For sensitive cosmetic formulations, the sachet is a small protective vault.
One dose. One opening.
Each cosmetic sachet is hermetically sealed and intended for single use. The product remains untouched by fingers and the outside environment until opened. Once open, simply squeeze the required amount directly into your palm or onto your skin. The result is easy, clean and hygienic application without a dispenser or additional components.
The ideal way to try LucyLab
The 2–5 ml volume is practical as a sample of face cream, serum or another cosmetic product. The sachet is exceptionally light and flat and takes up very little space, so you can keep it in your handbag, wash bag or hand luggage.
Minimum material, maximum performance
Multi-layer PET/ALU/PE laminate provides exceptional protection while keeping packaging weight very low. As the individual layers are firmly bonded together, this type of laminate cannot currently be easily recycled in most standard recycling systems. Its environmental benefit lies mainly in its efficient use of materials and low weight. PET, aluminium and PE are among the materials also used in packaging assessed according to COSMOS and ECOCERT principles; COSMOS also takes multi-layer materials and free sample packaging into particular consideration.
LucyLab – protecting the formula until first opening
The packaging is manufactured at facilities certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 14064-1. For LucyLab, however, what matters most is the result: a premium look, high barrier protection, hygienic single-use application and a practical format that lets you experience the product exactly as we created it.

Dobrý den, můžu zinkovou mističku mazat dceři na neštovice? Případně v jaké fázi? Děkuji
Blanka
Dobrý deň, veľmi som sa tešila na nové balenie, nakoľko mi to prišlo praktickejšie a hygienickejšie oproti kelímku. Konzistencia mi však príde príliš tekutá, mám minuté skoro celé balenie, a to som ju zatiaľ používala veľmi málo v porovnaní s predošlým balením. Tiež mi tým pádom horšie drží na pleti. Chcem sa preto opýtať, či je takáto konzistencia v poriadku, mám ju inak skladovať alebo mám vyskúšať nové balenie? Ďakujem pekne.
Mia
Pôsobí aj na vrásky ďakujem?
