Plurol® Diisostearic CG

100% natural PEG-free emulsifying wax. Recommended for use in certified organic cosmetics and all-natural products. Particularly suitable for sensitive skin, including the skin of children and newborns. It gives products a lovely light, non-greasy and non-sticky texture, leaving skin feeling silky and ensuring full absorption of active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin. The mildness of this emulsifier makes it ideal for sensitive skin and baby care. It improves the product's water resistance and extends its shelf life. It is certified by ECOCERT/COSMOS and NPA natural certification schemes. This emulsifying wax comes from plant sources, such as vegetable oils, and meets strict requirements for natural origin, with at least 95 % of raw materials required to be plant-derived under COSMOS Organic standards. It is not synthetic, but a natural extract obtained from renewable resources, making it ideal for environmentally friendly, palm oil-free cosmetics.

As an emulsifier, it combines the water and oil phases into a stable emulsion, creating a creamy, pleasant product texture, improving the absorption of active ingredients and increasing the product's stability and shelf life. It restores the skin barrier by providing a light, non-greasy texture with a silky feel, soothes sensitive skin and protects against dehydration. It improves the water resistance of emulsions and extends their shelf life. The recommended concentration is 0,5-3 % as a sole emulsifier or co-emulsifier in formulations.

Studies confirm the effectiveness of natural emulsifiers based on polyglyceryl esters in stabilising emulsions; polyglyceryl-4 oleate at a concentration of 2-4 % creates stable O/W emulsions with a smooth texture and improved penetration of active ingredients into the skin (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2018).
