Description
Peppermint floral water is obtained from fresh peppermint leaves (Mentha Piperita), which grow naturally in the cooler climates of Europe and Asia. This aqueous distillate is produced through steam and water distillation or plant-based extraction. The leaves contain more than 40 active substances, including menthol, menthone, pulegone and flavonoids, which are responsible for its wide-ranging effects on the skin and its overall appearance. Organic quality guarantees that the raw material comes from organic cultivation without synthetic pesticides or artificial herbicides.
Function
Peppermint water works on several levels in skincare. Its primary action is toning and soothing, thanks to the presence of menthol, which gently cools and relaxes the skin. It also has strong antioxidant properties – the flavonoids and polyphenols in peppermint water protect the skin against oxidative stress and premature ageing. It also acts as a natural exfoliant with a gentle AHA effect. Thanks to its disinfectant and antimicrobial properties, it inhibits the growth of acne-causing bacteria, helping skin with a compromised barrier to recover. It balances the skin's pH and stimulates blood circulation, improving the supply of oxygen and nutrients to epidermal cells.

Peppermint water is ideal for oily, acne-prone and blemish-prone skin with a tendency towards inflammation and irritation. We also recommend it for people with sensitive skin who experience itching, redness or sunburn. Its antioxidant properties make it suitable for mature skin. Regular use as a spray refreshes the skin during physical activity or after shaving, and provides an aromatherapy boost when you feel tired. Scientific studies and specific data
Menthol at a concentration of 1–3 per cent shows significant antimicrobial effects against Propionibacterium acnes, as confirmed by a study published in the Journal of Medicinal Plants Research (2015). Peppermint flavonoids at a concentration of 0,5–1,5 per cent reduce skin inflammation by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines. Another study in Phytotherapy Research (2018) documented that peppermint extracts at a concentration of 2 per cent increase skin hydration by 23 per cent after six weeks of regular use.
