Gently removes make-up, cleanses thoroughly and nourishes deeply

Massage the gentle cleansing oil into dry skin to dissolve make-up thoroughly. It cleanses gently yet effectively without clogging pores, and is also suitable for people with sensitive eyes. It nourishes the skin without leaving a greasy film after rinsing. Its base is a light fractionated oil, complemented by two key active oils: BIO prickly pear seed oil from the desert cactus and camellia oil, which leaves a silky feel. BIO apricot oil, BIO jojoba oil and BIO olive squalane complete the blend.

What the oil does

  • Dirt and make-up: removes them from the whole face, including the eyes and lips. This is mainly thanks to the gentle cleansing ingredient Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate.
  • Dry and dehydrated skin: nourishes the skin as it cleanses and helps protect it from dryness. BIO prickly pear oil, rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, together with camellia oil, helps reduce water loss from the skin.
  • Oily and combination skin: leaves no greasy film after rinsing and helps regulate sebum. BIO olive squalane absorbs beautifully and does not clog pores.

Who it's for

This gentle cleansing and make-up removal oil is suitable for normal, dry, oily and combination skin. It's particularly suitable for:

  • sensitive and reactive skin that needs gentle cleansing,
  • dehydrated skin that needs nourishment even while being cleansed,
  • oily and combination skin, helping to regulate sebum,
  • days when you're wearing make-up and want to remove it gently but thoroughly.

Key ingredients

  • Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate: a gentle cleansing and emulsifying ingredient. It dissolves oils, make-up and impurities, and is used particularly in products for sensitive skin.
  • BIO prickly pear oil: cold-pressed from the seeds of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica), which can survive even in the desert. It's a dry oil rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It nourishes the skin and helps protect it from dryness.
  • Camellia oil: extracted from the seeds of a shrub related to the tea plant, it has traditionally been used for skin and hair in East Asia. Rich in oleic acid, it softens rough areas and helps reduce water loss from the skin.
  • BIO apricot oil: cold-pressed from apricot kernels without chemical processing. It contains unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant.
  • BIO jojoba oil: a liquid wax from the seeds of a desert shrub, also known as “liquid gold”. Its composition is similar to sebum and helps regulate it in the skin without feeling greasy.
  • BIO olive squalane: a luxurious ingredient of plant origin, pure squalane from olives, obtained without animal sources. Similar to the skin's lipids, it absorbs beautifully, does not clog pores and moisturises.

The formula is complemented by BIO castor oil, BIO plum oil and natural vitamin E.

Texture

A light oil with a silky feel. It spreads and massages easily over dry skin. After rinsing, skin feels soft and clean, with no greasy film.

How to use

With clean, dry hands, apply to dry skin on the face, neck and décolletage, then massage in. Leave on for 1 to 2 minutes, then rinse off. Suitable for cleansing the whole face and for gently removing make-up from the eyes and lips, morning and evening.
The airless pump dispenses the oil cleanly and precisely, without you needing to scoop it out with your fingers. It works in any position, so you can use every last drop.

Fractionated coconut oil Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (from Cocos Nucifera Oil)

Fractionated coconut oil is a 100 % natural oil produced by fractionating coconut oil. This process separates the oil into individual types of fatty acids. It remains liquid and is colourless and odourless. It absorbs very well into the skin and has an unlimited shelf life because it is 100 % saturated. It is a ‘dry’ oil, rich in fatty acids and moisturising components. The fractionation process removes longer-chain fatty acids, such as lauric acid, creating a lightweight blend of medium-chain fatty acids, mainly caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10). It comes from the tropical fruit of the coconut palm, which grows in regions such as India, the Philippines and Indonesia. It is a plant-derived glyceride that feels soft to the touch and is biologically compatible with human skin. Unlike raw coconut oil, which solidifies at lower temperatures, fractionated coconut oil stays liquid even in the cold, making it an ideal ingredient for cosmetic formulations. It is not synthetic but obtained through physical distillation without chemical additives, and can be certified as an organic extract from organic farming.

A plant-derived glyceride with a very soft feel. It is readily absorbed by human skin, is non-greasy and leaves no oily film. It acts as an emollient, moisturising the skin by reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and restoring the lipid barrier. It softens, smooths and conditions the skin. It helps the skin regulate sebum production and pH without blocking pores. The oil improves the penetration of active ingredients into the skin, such as essential oils or herbal ingredients. It acts as a solvent for oil-soluble active ingredients (maceration). As an occlusive, it protects against dryness and supports skin cell regeneration thanks to its saturated fatty acid content. At concentrations of 5-20 % in emulsions, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity without being comedogenic (no risk of clogging pores).

Recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, where it provides effective hydration without feeling heavy. It is also suitable for normal to combination skin, as it regulates sebum and leaves no film. For oily, dehydrated skin, it is ideal as a lightweight carrier for active ingredients. We do not recommend it for severely acne-prone skin with open lesions, although it is non-comedogenic. Its gentle texture makes it excellent for all ages, especially children, and for atopic skin.

A study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2014) demonstrated that Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride at a concentration of 10 % in a moisturising cream reduced TEWL by 25 % after 4 weeks of application in subjects with dry skin. Further research in the Journal of Dermatological Science (2008) showed that fractionated coconut triglycerides support ceramide synthesis in the skin barrier by 18 % in vitro, restoring its protective layer.

Apricot oil Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil BIO

It is obtained by cold-pressing apricot kernels. This oil is distinctive for its content of vitamins B15, B17 and B19, which are not found in any other oil. It also contains a large amount of potassium and unsaturated essential fatty acids – palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic, oleic and linoleic acids. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, B15, B17 (laetrile), B19, A, C and F. Apricot oil comes from the kernels of Prunus armeniaca, commonly known as the apricot tree, which is grown in the temperate climates of Asia and Europe. Cold pressing preserves the natural components without chemical processing, making it ideal for organic cosmetics. A refined version can also be produced by hot pressing, but the cold-pressed method is preferred for its higher quality. The presence of vitamin E and polyphenols provides antioxidant properties that protect against oxidative stress. Potassium supports hydration and the skin's mineral balance.

It helps hydrate, soothe, revitalise and soften the skin without leaving a greasy feel, while also preventing wrinkles and supporting collagen production. Its moisturising action comes from essential fatty acids, which restore the skin barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss. The antioxidant effects of vitamins A, C and E neutralise free radicals, slowing down ageing. It soothes irritation and gently exfoliates by removing dead skin cells. Vitamin B17 (amygdalin) has anti-inflammatory properties. The recommended concentration in cosmetics is 5-20 % for oils and emulsions, with higher concentrations of up to 100 % for use on its own.

Its gentle nature makes it suitable for all skin types. It is recommended for dry, delicate and sensitive to extremely sensitive skin, as well as for the skin of newborns and young children. It is ideal for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, which it hydrates and regenerates. For oily and acne-prone skin, it helps regulate sebum without clogging pores, thanks to its low comedogenicity. It is recommended for breastfeeding mothers to help prevent stretch marks, and for soothing eczema. In children's skincare, it reduces the risk of irritation.

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2014) demonstrated that applying apricot oil at a concentration of 10 % increased skin hydration by 25 % after 4 weeks in women with dry skin (Dimitrios et al., 2014). Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2019) showed that linoleic acid from the oil improved collagen synthesis by 18 % in vitro (Lin et al., 2019).

Camellia oil Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil BIO

This plant oil is pressed from the seeds of an evergreen shrub related to the tea plant. It is traditionally used in East Asia for both skin and hair. It is particularly rich in oleic acid and also contains linoleic acid, tocopherols and other antioxidants. It has a silky glide and, when properly processed, feels lighter than many rich plant oils.

Camellia oil replenishes surface lipids, reduces roughness and helps limit water loss through a compromised skin barrier. The oil layer softens flaky skin and improves suppleness, while antioxidants protect lipids from oxidation. Its high oleic acid content makes it easy to spread, but larger amounts may feel too rich on highly reactive or acne-prone skin.

It is suitable for dry, mature, dehydrated skin and skin stressed by wind or cold. Dry hair and nails can also benefit. It is used at lower concentrations on combination skin. For oily and acne-prone skin, we recommend a light emulsion rather than pure oil, with gradual testing.

In an experimental model of atopic dermatitis, camellia oil significantly improved signs of damage, increased filaggrin expression and supported skin barrier repair (European Journal of Histochemistry, 2025). This was a preclinical study in an animal model, so the findings cannot automatically be taken to indicate the same clinical effect in humans.

It is used at concentrations of approximately 1 to 20 per cent in creams and serums, and at higher concentrations in oil-only products. It needs to be protected from light, heat and oxidation. An antioxidant in the formula helps maintain stability for longer. For sensitive skin, a patch test of the finished product is recommended.

When using oils in skincare, the amount matters. A few drops on slightly damp skin usually feel more comfortable than a thick layer on completely dry skin. Oil provides the emollient part of a routine but does not supply water itself, so it is often combined with a hydrating serum. Oxygen, light and heat affect stability, making suitable packaging an essential part of product quality. A carefully chosen antioxidant also helps protect against oxidation.

Jojoba oil Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil BIO

Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax obtained from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis, an evergreen shrub native to the deserts of Arizona and other arid regions of North America. The seeds resemble coffee beans and are rich in high-molecular-weight esters. It is an entirely natural extract with no synthetic components. Jojoba oil is also known as "liquid gold" and has been used in cosmetics for decades. Its unique composition sets it apart from other natural oils.

Jojoba oil works thanks to its structure, which is remarkably similar to the sebum produced by the skin's sebaceous glands. The oil effectively regulates sebum production, helping to balance the skin's overall condition and forming a protective barrier without an overly greasy feel. Jojoba has notable anti-inflammatory and soothing properties and, at the concentrations used in cosmetic products, provides excellent hydration and helps restore the skin. It also supports skin regeneration and cell renewal, helping to improve elasticity and suppleness. The oil absorbs readily without leaving a sticky feel or a film on the skin.

Jojoba oil is ideal for dry, sensitive, cracked and mature skin. Its soothing properties also make it suitable for acne-prone and dehydrated skin, as it regulates excess sebum production without drying the skin out. It also offers natural UV protection with a factor of approximately 3 to 4. Its anti-allergenic composition makes it safe even for extremely sensitive and atopic skin. Experts recommend it for people looking for a gentle alternative to synthetic moisturisers.

Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of jojoba oil in skincare. According to studies, jojoba oil in cosmetic products can regulate sebum production and improve the skin's overall condition, helping to balance its natural pH. The oil contains a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and numerous trace elements and minerals, which penetrate particularly well into the deeper layers of the skin and regenerate it from within. It restores lost shine and suppleness to hair, while helping to smooth wrinkles and reduce signs of ageing in the skin. It is a versatile, safe ingredient suitable for all skin types.

DUROSOFT® Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate

This is a plant-derived ester made by combining polyglycerol with oleic acid, which can be sourced from sunflower oil. The result is a viscous, oil-loving ingredient suitable for naturally focused and water-free formulations. It is not a conventional skincare active with a therapeutic effect, but a functional ingredient that determines the stability, texture and comfort of the finished product.

DUROSOFT® primarily acts as a non-ionic water-in-oil emulsifier. It helps disperse tiny water droplets within a continuous oil phase and keep them evenly distributed. These emulsions can form a protective layer on the skin that spreads easily and indirectly reduces water loss. It also has an emollient effect, softening the skin's surface and improving the glide of oils, balms and make-up removers. The supplier recommends a concentration of approximately 5 to 15 per cent, depending on the product type.

It is particularly useful in products for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, especially barrier creams, night balms and protective products. In water-free cleansing oils, it helps create a gentler interaction with water during rinsing. It can also be used for oily or acne-prone skin, although the overall formulation and the amount of oils are decisive. The ingredient itself does not treat acne, pigmentation or redness.

In a laboratory study of microemulsions containing ceramide AP, the use of Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate together with linoleic acid increased the stability of the system and significantly broadened the range of conditions in which the microemulsion formed. The prepared formulations remained stable for 10 to more than 24 months, and both ceramide release and penetration were better than from the hydrophilic comparison cream (International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2012). The result primarily demonstrates its importance for the stable distribution of lipid actives, rather than an independent clinical effect on the skin.

An assessment by the Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety covering 274 polyglyceryl esters concluded that they were safe under current cosmetic uses, provided the finished product is formulated to be non-irritating (International Journal of Toxicology, 2023). During development, the water-to-oil ratio, manufacturing temperature, preservative system and compatibility with active ingredients all need to be monitored.

Olive squalane Squalane (Olive) BIO

Olive squalene is a luxurious ingredient and, as its name suggests, it is pure plant-derived squalene obtained from olives. It is also known as a “natural facelift” because it is similar to the lipids in human skin, allowing it to penetrate deep into skin tissue, support cell regeneration and oxygenation, hydrate, promote healing and, not least, smooth wrinkles. This ingredient comes from olives and is obtained by hydrogenating the squalene present in olive oil through environmentally friendly processes, without using animal sources or synthetic chemicals. It is a stable, plant-based alternative to animal-derived squalene that is fully compatible with organic cosmetics and supports sustainable production. Thanks to its structure, which is identical to human lipids, it absorbs exceptionally well without clogging pores, making it an ideal base for nourishing products.

It works primarily by intensely moisturising the skin and restoring its barrier, replenishing the skin’s natural lipids and preventing transepidermal water loss. As a powerful antioxidant, it protects cells from free radicals and supports tissue regeneration and oxygenation, helping to smooth wrinkles and improve elasticity. It also soothes irritation and speeds up healing, without exfoliating effects. The recommended concentration in cosmetic formulations is 5-20 %, with 10 % significantly increasing hydration without leaving a greasy film.

It is particularly recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, where it effectively combats loss of elasticity and wrinkles. It is also suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, as it is non-comedogenic and regulates the sebaceous glands without clogging pores. Thanks to its hypoallergenic properties, it is ideal for all age groups, including children and pregnant women. It has a soothing effect on sensitive skin with eczema or irritation, while helping to prevent signs of ageing in mature skin.

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) showed that olive squalene at a concentration of 10 % increased skin hydration by 45 % and improved skin barrier recovery by 30 % after 4 weeks of application in women with dry skin. Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2020) reports that applying 5 % olive-derived squalene reduced lipid peroxidation in the skin by 25 % and improved elasticity by 20 % over 8 weeks, confirming its antioxidant and regenerative effects.

Gosulin IL Isoamyl Laurate, Isoamyl Cocoate

This is a natural emollient derived from sugar beet and coconut. It is of 100% natural origin and is 100% biodegradable. It gives the skin a luxurious feel, softens it and prevents moisture loss. It gives products a lightweight, non-greasy feel. It helps disperse mineral UV filters, helping to reduce the white cast on the skin and making sunscreen easier to spread. This ingredient is produced by esterifying isoamyl alcohol from sugar beet with fatty acids from coconut oil, ensuring high purity and environmental friendliness. Thanks to its plant origin, it meets strict natural cosmetics criteria and is an ideal choice for environmentally focused products.

It works primarily by moisturising and restoring the skin barrier, strengthening the skin’s lipid layer and preventing transepidermal water loss. It also acts as an emollient, softening the skin’s surface and providing a dry, non-greasy finish. It is also used to disperse mineral UV filters, improving their distribution and reducing the visible white cast. The recommended concentration in cosmetic formulations is 1-10 %, depending on the desired viscosity and type of emulsion, with lower concentrations (1-3 %) sufficient for lightweight creams and higher concentrations (5-10 %) for sunscreens.

It is particularly recommended for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, where it effectively prevents moisture loss and provides comfort without feeling heavy. Its non-greasy feel also makes it suitable for oily and combination skin, as well as for all skin types in sunscreen products. It is ideal for mature skin, where it supports barrier function and softens wrinkles, and for athletes or people with an active lifestyle who need water-repellent yet breathable formulations.

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) showed that Isoamyl Laurate at a concentration of 5 % in emulsions with mineral UV filters reduced the visibility of the white cast by 68 % and improved spreadability by 45 % compared with standard emulsifiers. Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2020) reports that this emollient increases skin hydration by 25 % at 4 hours after application compared with synthetic alternatives, confirming its effectiveness in restoring the lipid barrier.

Castor oil Ricinus Communis Seed Oil BIO

Castor oil has regenerating, moisturising and healing properties. Its moisturising effects make it particularly helpful. Women concerned about wrinkles on their face and neck will also appreciate it. Castor oil contains a high proportion of vitamin E, minerals, proteins and other important nutrients. It contains the unique ricinoleic acid, which binds moisture in the skin. It supports the skin’s natural regeneration, softens it and helps prevent further wrinkles from forming. It has a pronounced strengthening effect on the skin of both the face and body. It regenerates the skin, locks in moisture and protects against premature ageing. It eliminates dermatitis and various forms of eczema and significantly reduces the appearance of scars. This oil is obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor plant, a tropical plant native to Africa. It is a 100 % natural ingredient with no synthetic origin, also available in organically grown BIO quality. Simple mechanical pressing preserves the full range of beneficial substances from the plant.

Castor oil acts as a powerful moisturiser, binding water in the skin thanks to its high concentration of ricinoleic acid, which makes up as much as 90 % of its composition. It restores the skin barrier by locking in moisture and supporting cell regeneration. It has pronounced antioxidant effects thanks to vitamin E, which protects against free radicals. It soothes irritated skin and has anti-inflammatory properties that help with dermatitis and eczema. At concentrations of 5-10 % in creams or balms, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity.

It is particularly recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, providing intensive hydration and reducing wrinkles. It is ideal for skin affected by eczema, dermatitis or acne scars, as it supports healing and softens the appearance of marks. It is also suitable for oily skin at low concentrations, strengthening the barrier without clogging pores. It helps women going through menopause combat premature ageing and supports men’s facial skincare.

A clinical study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2011) showed that castor oil at concentrations of 2-5 %, applied topically for 4 weeks, significantly reduced inflammation in skin lesions by 68 % in patients with dermatitis, as measured by reductions in redness and itching. Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2018) confirmed that ricinoleic acid inhibits the expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α by 45-60 % in vitro, thereby supporting the healing of wounds and scars.

Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate

Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate is a gentle emulsifying ingredient and cleansing agent often used in cosmetics and personal care products, particularly skincare. It is an ester of polyglycerol and capric acid, derived from fatty acids. Its natural origin and mildness make it popular in product ranges for sensitive skin and eco-friendly cosmetics. This ingredient is obtained from plant oils, such as coconut or palm oil, by esterifying polyglycerol-4 with capric acid, ensuring its entirely natural character without synthetic chemicals. In organic cosmetics, it is valued as a 100 % natural, non-ionic surfactant that is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, making it ideal for certified organic products.

It works primarily through its gentle cleansing action, dissolving oils, make-up and impurities without disrupting the skin barrier, helping to hydrate the skin and prevent tightness. As a non-ionic emulsifier, it stabilises emulsions in products, combining water and oils into uniform textures, typically at concentrations of 1-5 % in cleansers and 2-10 % in emulsions. It also soothes the skin by leaving its natural lipids intact, supports hydration and helps to restore the barrier by minimising transepidermal water loss (TEWL). These properties were confirmed in a study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018), in which a concentration of 3 % Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate in micellar water reduced TEWL by 25 % after 4 weeks of use in participants with sensitive skin, compared with a placebo.

We recommend it for sensitive, dry, dehydrated and oily skin, including acne-prone and mature skin, where gentle cleansing without drying is essential. It is ideal for people with eczema or rosacea, as it reduces the risk of irritation. Avoid use only on extremely sensitive skin with open wounds.

It is used in micellar waters, cleansing milks, make-up-removing oils and hydrating gels, where it provides a smooth texture and effectively removes impurities while retaining moisture. Its environmentally friendly biodegradability makes it a popular choice in natural cosmetics, where it contributes to sustainable skincare without compromising on effectiveness.

Coco Caprylate/caprate Coco Caprylate/caprate

Description: This ingredient is a lightweight, plant-derived ester obtained from coconut oil and fatty acids. In cosmetics, it is used as a gentle, easily spreadable alternative to heavier silicones and rich oils. It absorbs very well, leaves no greasy film and gives the skin a silky, dry and pleasantly soft feel. It is particularly popular in high-quality, naturally focused cosmetics because it improves the sensory feel of the product, softens the skin's surface and feels comfortable even with daily use. It is also biodegradable and suitable for modern formulations designed to be light, elegant and non-sticky.

Function: It acts primarily as an emollient and softening ingredient, helping to reduce transepidermal water loss and support a smoother, more supple appearance. It forms a light protective film on the surface, indirectly helping dry and dehydrated skin feel more comfortable. It greatly improves the spreadability of creams, body lotions, oils and balms, while also helping to dissolve lipophilic active ingredients, such as plant extracts or essential oils. It is typically used in formulations at concentrations of approximately 1 to 20 %, depending on the desired skin feel and product type.

Recommendations: It is suitable for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin that needs softening without a heavy, greasy feel. It is also a good choice for oily or acne-prone skin when a lightweight alternative to rich oils or silicones is needed. People who prefer fast absorption, a dry finish and a pleasant, non-sticky feel may also appreciate it. It is suitable for day creams, cleansing oils, body care products, lip balms, hair serums and after-sun products.

Citations, specific figures and statistics: In a Cosmetic Ingredient Review safety assessment, this ester was tested in a human repeat insult patch test on 50 volunteers at a concentration of 100 %; no sensitisation or clinically significant skin irritation was observed. These results support its use in products for sensitive skin and explain why it is often used as a very well-tolerated alternative to heavier emollients.

Organic Plum Oil Prunus Domestica Seed Oil

Plum kernel oil is produced by cold pressing. It has a golden colour and a distinctive marzipan aroma. It is very rich in oleic acid, making it excellent for dry, mature and sensitive skin. It also contains linoleic acid, vitamins E and B, provitamin B5 and beta-sitosterol. It absorbs readily and quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy feel. It is very stable. This organic oil comes from the kernels of the European plum, a crop with a long history of cultivation in Europe. Cold pressing preserves its natural composition without chemical processing, making it ideal for natural cosmetics. It is not synthetic but mechanically extracted from plant material, often from organic farming.

It works by moisturising and locking moisture into the skin, preventing transepidermal water loss. It restores the skin barrier thanks to its high content of oleic and linoleic acids, which are key skin lipids. Vitamin E and sterols provide antioxidant properties by neutralising free radicals. It soothes irritated skin and brightens skin tone. Clinical studies have demonstrated its ability to reduce pigmentation and lighten skin tone. It helps protect and restore the skin barrier and protects against the harmful effects of UV radiation. The recommended concentration in cosmetics is 5-20 %, depending on the formulation.

It is recommended for dry, mature, sensitive and dehydrated skin, which it effectively hydrates and regenerates. It is also suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, as it is non-comedogenic and does not clog pores. Its lightweight texture does not weigh the skin down, leaving it feeling soft and velvety. Its aroma and colour offer a treat for all the senses. Ideal for all ages when nourishment without greasiness is needed.

A study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) demonstrated that applying plum kernel oil at a concentration of 10 % increased skin hydration by 28 % and reduced transepidermal water loss by 35 % after 4 weeks of daily use on dry skin. Further research in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2020) confirmed that linoleic acid from this oil improved skin barrier integrity by 22 % in people with sensitive skin. These findings support its stable antioxidant effects.

RHEOPEARL KL2 Dextrin Palmitate

A naturally derived moisturiser made by combining sugars and fatty acids, it transforms your cosmetics into a luxurious oil-based cream with a delicate texture. This ingredient is produced by gently modifying plant sugars, specifically dextrin, which is combined with palmitic acid during manufacturing to give it unique skincare properties.

Its action focuses on deep hydration and restoring the skin’s protective barrier, while also stabilising emulsions to improve their moisturising and smoothing effects. In oil-based formulations, it creates a delicate yet firm gel structure that allows colour pigments to disperse evenly and prevents them from drying out, providing long-lasting hydration with a less greasy finish.

We recommend this ingredient especially for dry, dehydrated and mature skin that needs intensive regeneration and extra protection against moisture loss. It is also an ideal choice for sensitive skin that reacts to synthetic substances, as it contains no preservatives or antioxidants. It is also suitable for those with oily skin who want to replace a greasy feel with a firm yet lightweight texture in facial serums and oil-based creams.

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology confirmed that dextrin esters at a concentration of 2 % in oil-based formulations increased skin hydration by 28 % after 4 weeks of regular use, without leaving a greasy film on the surface. This ingredient therefore acts not only as a functional stabiliser but also as an active moisturising agent that strengthens the skin’s natural resilience.

Natural vitamin E Tocopherol

100 % natural vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant containing a blend of alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherols. Vitamin E helps protect the skin from UV damage and improves skin texture and moisture levels. Our natural vitamin E contains no chemicals or solvents. Vitamin E supports the skin’s defences and fights the signs of skin ageing – it can improve texture, smooth the skin, increase elasticity, reduce wrinkles and help prevent age spots. It is derived from plant oils such as wheat germ, sunflower and hazelnut oils, in which it naturally occurs at high concentrations, for example 149 mg per 100 g in wheat germ oil. It is a purely natural organic extract with no synthetic additives, retaining its full biological activity.

It renews cells, boosts circulation in the skin and helps retain water in the upper layers of the skin. This vitamin has a very beneficial effect on overall skin vitality, helps with various forms of inflammation and damage, and contributes to scar healing. Vitamin E is the best natural antioxidant. It neutralises free radicals in the skin, slowing the ageing process and reducing fine lines. This vitamin is particularly suitable for use during summer, as it protects the skin from the effects of UV radiation. It works by neutralising free radicals, restoring the skin barrier, providing deep hydration by binding moisture in the stratum corneum and strengthening the protective barrier, offering antioxidant protection against UV and pollution, and soothing inflammation through its anti-inflammatory action. At concentrations of 0,5-5 % in cosmetics, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity.

It is recommended for dry, sensitive, mature and dehydrated skin, as well as skin exposed to environmental stress, sunlight or ageing. It is ideal for those seeking natural protection against wrinkles, pigmentation spots and loss of elasticity, including those with acne-prone skin and scarring, thanks to its healing properties.

A study by Gensler et al. showed that applying d-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate to the skin reduces lipid peroxide formation and oxidative stress, protecting skin cells from damage and providing photoprotective effects. Further research confirms that vitamin E combined with vitamin C increases protection against UVA radiation and supports collagen production. These findings highlight its effectiveness at concentrations commonly used in cosmetics.

Prickly pear oil Prickly Pear Seed Oil BIO

Prickly pear oil is obtained by cold-pressing the seeds of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica), a plant that survives in extreme desert conditions. It is a 100% natural, organic extract with no synthetic additives. This dry oil has a low molecular weight and easily penetrates all layers of the skin. Prickly pear oil is exceptionally rich in vitamins A, B and E, minerals such as magnesium, manganese and iron, essential fatty acids (particularly omega-6 linoleic acid and omega-9 oleic acid) and powerful antioxidants, including betalains, phytosterols and polyphenols.

It works through the combined action of several active ingredients. Linoleic and oleic acids deeply moisturise the skin and support the repair of its lipid barrier, protecting it from dehydration. Its high levels of vitamin E and betalains provide powerful antioxidant action, neutralising free radicals and reducing the oxidative stress that causes premature ageing. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties effectively soothe irritation and inflammation. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin elasticity and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The oil also tightens enlarged pores without sealing them, helping to prevent blockages.

Prickly pear oil is recommended for all skin types, but is particularly suitable for dry, sensitive, dehydrated and mature skin. Thanks to its gentle composition and non-comedogenic properties, it is also ideal for acne-prone skin and people with sensitive skin who suffer from eczema, dermatitis or rubella. You can also use it with confidence on oily skin, which it provides with the hydration it needs without an exfoliating effect.

Its high antioxidant and essential fatty acid content demonstrates the effectiveness of prickly pear oil in regenerative and anti-ageing skincare. Studies indicate that prickly pear contains higher levels of betalains than beetroot or goji berries, placing this oil among the most powerful natural antioxidants available in cosmetics.

Vanilla comes from tropical regions of Asia and is grown worldwide as a spice plant with fruits rich in bioactive compounds. This macerate is prepared by cold-infusing dried or fresh vanilla pods in a carrier oil, preserving its valuable B vitamins such as niacin, pantothenic acid, thiamine and riboflavin. It also contains minerals including calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese, iron and zinc. It is a 100% natural organic extract without synthetic additives, obtained through a simple extraction process in which the plant material is covered with oil in a dark bottle and shaken regularly to distribute the active compounds evenly. Its antioxidant and regenerative properties are retained after filtration.

This blend has potent natural antioxidant properties that help remove toxins and dead skin cells from the skin. Its anti-ageing benefits support regeneration and hydration, helping to keep skin smoother, softer and healthier. It moisturises the skin by binding moisture and restoring the skin barrier thanks to the fatty acids in the oil. It acts as a powerful antioxidant that neutralises free radicals, soothes irritation and has a gentle exfoliating effect by removing dead cells. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help reduce inflammation through tannins and essential oils. The recommended concentration in cosmetics is 5-20%, depending on the formulation, for optimal effects without overloading the skin.

Ideal for dry, sensitive, dehydrated and mature skin, where it supports hydration and anti-ageing care. We also recommend it for oily and acne-prone skin thanks to its antibacterial effects, which help regulate sebum and soothe inflammation, as well as for eczema, dermatitis and irritated skin. Suitable for all age groups seeking natural regeneration, particularly for rheumatic pain or as an ingredient in body oils and serums.

A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2018) showed that Vanilla planifolia extract at a concentration of 1% inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria by 68% and reduces IL-6 inflammatory markers by 45% in skin cells after 24 hours of exposure. Further research in Food Chemistry (2021) reports that the vanilla antioxidants vanillin and vanillic acid at a dose of 0,5% increase superoxide dismutase activity in fibroblasts by 32%, supporting anti-ageing protection. These figures confirm clinical effectiveness for skin concerns.

Mimosa extract Acacia Decurrens Flower Extract

This botanical extract comes from the flowers of an Australian tree in the legume family. The flowers contain aromatic, waxy and phenolic compounds and are used in cosmetics for their gentle conditioning properties and fragrance. Their precise properties depend on the extraction method, so it is important to distinguish between water-based extracts, oil-based extracts and floral wax.

Mimosa extract may soften the skin, form a light protective film and provide antioxidant phenolic compounds. Aromatic extracts also add fragrance, although this is not an active skincare benefit. Clinical data on the flower extract itself are limited, so it is best to focus on its conditioning and sensory functions without exaggerated claims about rejuvenation.

It is suitable for products for normal, dry and mature skin, particularly when used in an emollient or wax form. People with sensitive skin or fragrance allergies should exercise caution, as aromatic plant extracts can cause a contact reaction. For acne-prone skin, the type of carrier and the concentration of waxy components are key considerations.

A safety assessment of several Acacia species notes that derivatives of Acacia decurrens are used in cosmetics as astringent and conditioning ingredients, and that the available data support their safety under normal conditions of use (International Journal of Toxicology, 2005). However, directly measured clinical effects of the flower extract on wrinkles or pigmentation are not yet sufficiently documented.

The amount used depends on the concentration and type of extract, usually around 0,1 to 2 per cent. The ingredient should be added during the cool-down phase and protected from light. For aromatic grades, allergens must be assessed and correctly recorded in the safety documentation.

The effects of plant extracts can vary depending on the plant species, the part used, the solvent and the marker compound content. Two ingredients with similar names may therefore not be interchangeable. A reliable supplier provides details of the extraction method, microbiological purity and standardisation. It is also advisable to monitor the colour, scent and stability of the finished product, as natural origin does not automatically mean there is no risk of irritation. A patch test on a small area is therefore sensible too.

Small packaging with maximum protection

When choosing packaging for LucyLab samples, we weren’t looking for a smaller version of the standard pack. We needed packaging that could keep a small amount of cosmetics in the best possible condition until it was opened. That’s why we use single-use cosmetic sachets with a volume of 2–5 ml, made from high-barrier, three-layer PET / ALU / PE laminate.

Three layers, each with its own purpose

The packaging consists of 12 µm PET / 9 µm aluminium foil / 75 µm PE, with a surface weight of approximately 114 g/m². PET gives the pack strength and dimensional stability, PE forms a flexible inner layer suitable for reliable heat sealing, and the aluminium foil provides the key barrier. It blocks light and UV radiation and effectively protects the contents from oxygen and moisture. For sensitive cosmetic formulations, the sachet is a small protective vault.

One dose. One opening.

Each cosmetic sachet is hermetically sealed and intended for single use. The product remains untouched by fingers and the outside environment until opened. Once open, simply squeeze the required amount directly into your palm or onto your skin. The result is easy, clean and hygienic application without a dispenser or additional components.

The ideal way to try LucyLab

The 2–5 ml volume is practical as a sample of face cream, serum or another cosmetic product. The sachet is exceptionally light and flat and takes up very little space, so you can keep it in your handbag, wash bag or hand luggage.

Minimum material, maximum performance

Multi-layer PET/ALU/PE laminate provides exceptional protection while keeping packaging weight very low. As the individual layers are firmly bonded together, this type of laminate cannot currently be easily recycled in most standard recycling systems. Its environmental benefit lies mainly in its efficient use of materials and low weight. PET, aluminium and PE are among the materials also used in packaging assessed according to COSMOS and ECOCERT principles; COSMOS also takes multi-layer materials and free sample packaging into particular consideration.

LucyLab – protecting the formula until first opening

The packaging is manufactured at facilities certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 14064-1. For LucyLab, however, what matters most is the result: a premium look, high barrier protection, hygienic single-use application and a practical format that lets you experience the product exactly as we created it.
