Tibetan salt
Himalayan Pink Crystal Sal
This crystalline raw material comes from a natural mineral source located at a depth of 400 to 600 meters in the southwestern regions of the Himalayas. It formed more than 220 million years ago when an ancient ocean dried up as a result of climate change. Thanks to its isolation deep within the Earth’s crust, it is protected from modern pollution and does not contain impurities typical of contemporary sea salts. The raw material is rich in mineral substances including calcium, potassium, magnesium, and trace elements, which make it a valuable cosmetic ingredient with high bioavailability.
The mineral components of this raw material act primarily as a regenerative and hydrating complex. Mineral substances obtained from sea mud and sea salt have wide use in cosmetics and in body treatment. Potassium and sodium contained in the salt support skin hydration and restore the protective barrier of the epidermis. The mineral components also act as a gentle exfoliant that removes dead cells without irritation. The antioxidant effect lies in the presence of trace elements such as copper and selenium, which protect the skin from oxidative stress and premature aging. It also has soothing properties thanks to its pH being close to that of the skin.
Tibetan salt is suitable for use in cosmetic products intended for dry, dehydrated, and mature skin, where its mineral content supports regeneration and hydration. It is also recommended for sensitive skin, because its fine texture and natural source minimize the risk of irritation. Due to its exfoliating properties, it is also suitable for skin with minor cosmetic imperfections. For people with oily and acne-prone skin, it may be useful in lower concentrations as a gentle cleansing agent. In general, it is recommended for people seeking natural mineral solutions to firm and revitalize the skin.
Mineral substances from marine sources, including salts of similar origin, show clinically proven effects. A deficiency of mineral and trace elements in the body causes copper: premature graying of the hair and loss of elasticity in the skin and blood vessels; selenium: premature formation of age spots; zinc: flaky skin and hair loss. Conversely, the presence of these minerals in cosmetic products supports regenerative processes. Natural mineral complexes originating from geological sources show higher bioavailability compared with synthetic additives, thereby increasing the effectiveness of cosmetic formulations intended for skin care.
