Lemon essential oil

Citrus Limon Peel Oil

It is obtained by cold pressing from the peel of the fruits of Citrus limonum. The scent of this oil is fresh, distinctive, and sharp, and it has a pale yellow color. Lemon extracts support the production of white and red blood cells, which are essential for immunity and the nourishment of organs. It stimulates the immune system. It acts against various infections caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi (antibacterial, antifungal effects). It removes excess oil and acne from the skin, stimulates blood flow in the skin, and gives it life and a beautiful healthy color. It is a natural essential oil of plant origin, obtained by the traditional method of pressing citrus peels, without chemical processing. It is not synthetic, but a highly concentrated extract from the fruits that preserves natural bioactive compounds such as limonene and citrals. It can be certified as an organic extract from organic farming if it comes from controlled sources without pesticides.

Its mechanism of action includes strong antibacterial and antifungal effects that destroy pathogens on the skin and reduce the risk of infections. It soothes inflammation and irritation thanks to aldehydes with antiseptic properties. It stimulates microcirculation of the blood, thereby improving the nourishment of the skin and giving it a fresh complexion. It has astringent properties that remove excess oil and tighten pores. As an antioxidant, it fights free radicals and protects skin cells from oxidative stress. At low concentrations of 0.5-2% in cosmetics, it exfoliates dead cells and supports the renewal of the skin barrier. These effects have been confirmed by studies; for example, at a concentration of 1% it inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus by 99.9% in 24 hours (Journal of Essential Oil Research, 2018).

It is especially recommended for oily, acne-prone, and combination skin, where it regulates sebum production and fights bacteria that cause acne. Suitable for normal skin for refreshing and toning. For sensitive skin, use cautiously in diluted form due to photosensitivity. For dry or dehydrated skin, use in combination with moisturizing oils for balance. It is not recommended for children under 6 years of age or on open wounds without dilution. A study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2020) showed that lemon oil at a 1% concentration reduced inflammatory markers in acne patients by 45% after 4 weeks of application. Another study in Molecules (2019) confirmed that limonene from lemon oil improved wound healing by 30% in mouse models.

It helps with various skin inflammations, herpes, and insect bites. It contains aldehydes that have soothing and antiseptic effects. It helps eliminate inflammation or infections and thus ensures healthier skin without rashes or acne. The skin is smoother and healthier after using the essential oil. In aromatherapy, it supports concentration and reduces stress, contributing to overall wellness.
