Organic lavender water

Lavender Flower Water

Natural floral water obtained by distilling lavender flowers is a traditional product with a long history in skincare. It is produced by steam-distilling fresh, organically grown flowers cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, preserving a high concentration of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. This process involves double steaming, during which the water binds to plant waxes and biostimulants, including trace amounts of essential oil, eliminating the need for preservatives or alcohol. With the flowers transported in no more than 45 minutes, it retains its freshness and characteristic herbal scent. It is a pure hydrosol, popular in natural cosmetics for its gentleness and versatility, supporting skin health and helping the mind relax.

It hydrates the skin by helping it retain moisture and maintain its natural elasticity, making it ideal for dehydrated skin. Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties soothe irritation and inflammation, reduce redness and support cell regeneration. As an antioxidant, it protects against free radicals, slows ageing and improves skin texture, smoothing fine lines. It balances the skin's pH close to its natural level, regulates sebum production, cleanses pores and reduces the risk of infection. It has antibacterial effects against bacteria such as Propionibacterium acnes and supports the healing of wounds and scars. It is used at concentrations of 100 % as a toner or blended into creams and serums at up to 50 % for maximum effectiveness without irritation.

It is recommended for all skin types, particularly dry, dehydrated, sensitive, oily, acne-prone and mature skin. For sensitive and irritated skin, it soothes inflammation and eczema; for dry skin, it hydrates and restores the skin barrier; for oily and acne-prone skin, it regulates sebum and cleanses pores; and for mature skin, it reduces wrinkles and supports elasticity. It is also suitable for problem skin with eczema, after shaving or for sunburn. It is gentle enough for children and pregnant women, promotes hair growth and combats dandruff.

A study published in the Journal of Dermatology showed that lavender extract at a concentration of 1 % inhibited the growth of Propionibacterium acnes by 95 % after 24 hours, reducing acne-related inflammation (Journal of Dermatology, 2016). Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science reports that applying a 2 % lavender hydrosol solution reduced skin redness by 40 % over 7 days in subjects with sensitive skin (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2018).
