Linden blossom anti-allergic - fragrance composition

Parfum

Linden blossom is obtained from the flowers of the linden tree and is traditionally used in natural cosmetics in the form of extracts, infusions, or essential oils. It contains a rich range of active compounds such as flavonoids, essential oils, vitamins C and E, organic acids, mucilage substances, and tannins, which contribute to its beneficial properties. In modern production, it is also often used as an anti-allergenic fragrance composition, made up of natural and synthetic ingredients, that imitates the delicate honey-floral aroma of fresh linden blossoms. These forms allow for wide use in creams, balms, and fragranced products, where it protects the skin from infections and supports its natural defense.

Its mechanism of action focuses primarily on soothing and regenerating the skin, where flavonoids and vitamin E create a protective barrier, retain moisture, and exhibit antioxidant effects against free radicals. It moisturizes the deeper layers of the skin, restores the lipid-water balance, and relieves irritation. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties thanks to mucilage substances and essential oils, which reduce redness and support healing. In anti-allergenic fragrance compositions, a concentration of up to 1% is recommended in formulations to maintain stability and minimize the risk of irritation.

It is especially recommended for sensitive, dry, dehydrated, and irritated skin, where it hydrates and regenerates, including mature skin with the first wrinkles. It is also suitable for oily or acne-prone skin thanks to detoxifying and toning effects that balance pH and support the microbiota without clogging pores. It is ideal for allergy sufferers looking for a gentle fragrance without synthetic irritants such as phthalates.

Studies confirm the effects of flavonoids from linden: the flavonoid tiliroside inhibits calcium channels, thereby supporting the regulation of cardiac activity and indirectly anti-inflammatory processes (Phytotherapy Research, 2012). Further research showed that linden blossom extracts at a concentration of 0.5% reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α by 25-40% in cell models of irritated skin (Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2015).
