Aroleat Samphira - Retinol Like

Caprylic/capric triglyceride,Hydrogenated vegetable oil,Crithmum maritimum extract

Sea fennel wax - Aroleat Samphira is a group of substances forming a retinoid-like complex in a waxy consistency, which gives the skin a feeling of being softer, more vital, and more even-toned. Crithmum maritimum extract is the key component of the Aroleat Samphira complex. Behind this name lies a plant also known as sea fennel, which sailors have known since ancient times for its vitamin C-like properties and high mineral salt content. It creeps along sea coasts, on rocks and cliffs. Enduring wind and the pounding of sea waves, it is able to withstand adverse environmental conditions. This hardy plant originates from the Mediterranean and the western coast of Europe, where Hippocrates considered it one of the most important medicinal plants with diuretic and detoxifying properties. It contains high amounts of vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants, which allow it to survive in the harsh environment of salt water and strong winds. The extract from the whole plant is obtained from vines growing on the rocky coasts of the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Caspian Sea. Unlike synthetic retinoids, this natural waxy extract is gentle on the skin, with no risk of irritation or photosensitivity.

The mechanism of action includes four main phases: stimulation of keratinocyte proliferation in the deeper layers of the skin, making the complexion appear denser and thicker; gentle disruption of the stratum corneum for exfoliation and surface evening; an anti-inflammatory effect without the release of interleukin 1α, which prevents irritation; and regulation of sebum production for a matte effect. In a 1% solution, it effectively binds retinoic acid-binding proteins, stimulates keratinocyte proliferation, and significantly reduces sebum production. Other ingredients such as caprylic/capric triglycerides support the penetration of active ingredients, prevent moisture loss, and ensure easy absorption without a greasy film. Hydrogenated vegetable oil increases stability, creates a protective barrier, and protects against oxidation, thereby restoring the skin barrier and moisturizing. This retinol-like complex thus exfoliates, soothes, regulates sebum, and provides anti-aging benefits without the typical retinoid side effects.

It is recommended for dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated, and mature skin. Ideal for those seeking a retinoid alternative without irritation, especially for wrinkles, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation, acne, or loss of elasticity. Suitable for all age groups with environmentally stressed skin.

A study on a 3D model of a weakened skin barrier showed that a full-component extract of Crithmum maritimum mixed with caprylic/capric triglycerides increases epidermal cell thickness by 19.93%, LOR content by 26.92%, collagen fiber content by 47.62%, and type I collagen by 15.85%, thereby significantly promoting the regeneration of UV-damaged skin compared with the oily extract (PMC, 2024).
