Softens wrinkles and brightens skin without irritation
This luxurious night serum with retinol delivers visible rejuvenation without irritation, brightens the skin and helps reduce unwanted pigmentation. Its effects are achieved with the patented form of retinol HyRetin, alongside ectoin, niacinamide and alpha-lipoic acid, which help brighten the skin and even out its tone. Ectoin, together with bisabolol, helps hydrate and soothe the skin. Its light, milky texture supports overnight renewal, leaving skin smooth, supple and fresh.
What the serum helps with
- Wrinkles and fine lines: softens them and improves skin texture. Retinol in the form of HyRetin works alongside alpha-lipoic acid, which further enhances its effects on wrinkles and pigmentation.
- Brightening: restores radiance and evens out skin tone, thanks to alpha-lipoic acid and niacinamide.
- Smoother skin: improves its suppleness and texture. Retinol cleanses and refines pores, while alpha-lipoic acid minimises them. Together, they help prevent pores from becoming clogged.
Who it’s for
Retinol Power Night Serum is suitable for normal, dry, oily and combination skin. It is especially suited to:
- skin with wrinkles and fine lines,
- skin with unwanted pigmentation and uneven tone,
- skin with enlarged pores,
- acne-prone skin,
- skin that could do with a boost in radiance and suppleness.
Key ingredients
- HyRetin (retinol): a patented form of retinol bound to low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, which protects it from degradation and makes it exceptionally stable. Softens fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture and cleanses pores. In an in vivo study, 14 women aged 37 to 58 used a product containing HyRetin for 6 weeks. Objective measurements using a PRIMOS camera recorded a 36 % reduction in wrinkle depth. Skin elasticity also improved by 34 % and texture by 43 %.
- Ectoin® natural: protects cells from stress, hydrates the skin and helps soothe it. This bioactive molecule comes from microorganisms that thrive in extremely salty environments, enabling it to bind water very effectively.
- Niacinamide (vitamin B3): helps maintain hydration, softens the skin and evens out its tone. In a study of 42 women, it reduced the signs of pigmentation after 8 weeks. In another study, sebum production decreased significantly in 50 people after 2 and 4 weeks.
- Alpha-lipoic acid: a powerful antioxidant that smooths the skin’s surface and brightens it. It evens out skin tone, minimises pores and works with retinol to enhance its effects on wrinkles and pigmentation.
- AlgaPūr™: microalgae oil with a high proportion of omega-9 fatty acids. Hydrates, helps strengthen and protect the skin’s structure, and works synergistically with retinol.
- Bisabolol: an active ingredient derived from chamomile. Soothes the skin and helps reduce irritation.
The formula is complemented by lactic acid, which exfoliates and evens out pigmentation, and natural vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that softens the skin.
Texture
A delicate, silky, milky texture with a slight yellow tint. It absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling velvety. The serum is fragrance-free, with a subtle, natural scent.
How to use
Shake before use. Apply in the evening to a cleansed face, neck and décolletage. If you’re using retinol for the first time, start twice a week and gradually increase how often you use it. If your skin is sensitive, mix a drop of the retinol product with your night cream. Once your skin has adjusted, you can use the product undiluted. The serum contains vitamin A. Use sun protection with SPF during the day.
The formula is also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It can also be used during the summer months.
One press of the airless pump dispenses approximately 0,25 ml, so there’s no need to scoop the serum out of the pack with your fingers.

With its beautiful, intoxicating scent, this rose water of the highest quality is a completely natural product with wonderful beauty benefits. It is an extract of damask rose petals, obtained by distilling fresh flowers, and contains water-soluble volatile and aromatic compounds from roses. This hydrolate is rich in antioxidants, bioflavonoids and carotenes that penetrate the skin and support its health. Thanks to its strong antibacterial properties, it is made without preservatives, and is hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin. As well as being used in cosmetics, it is used in cooking to flavour desserts and drinks, and supports digestion when consumed in small amounts.
Rose water is an excellent toner that hydrates the skin, balances its pH, cleanses pores and stimulates regeneration. It has strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, disinfects, prevents inflammation and tightens pores. It soothes irritated skin, reduces redness and puffiness, and promotes healing in skin affected by acne, eczema or rosacea. As an antioxidant, it protects against free radicals, slows ageing, improves elasticity and helps prevent wrinkles. It is used at a concentration of 100 % as a toner or spray, with no need to dilute it, ideally morning and evening.
We recommend it for dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin. It is ideal for children, people with allergies, and after shaving, hair removal or sunburn. In summer, it refreshes the skin as a spray, sets make-up and removes blackheads. Suitable for anyone looking for natural, alcohol-free skincare.
A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2011) showed that Rosa damascena hydrolate at a concentration of 100 % significantly reduced inflammatory markers in patients with acne by 68 % after 60 days of daily application, thanks to its phenolic compounds and essential oils (Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2011). Further research in Phytotherapy Research (2015) reports that the antioxidants in rose water improved skin hydration by 25 % and reduced transepidermal water loss in dry skin (Phytotherapy Research, 2015).
A stable, luxurious, bio-based liquid oil created through the transformative power of microalgae. The microalgae used to produce this highly stable oil originally come from chestnut tree sap. Biotechnology makes it possible to obtain AlgaPūr ™ algae oil with a strong focus on sustainability and the protection of nature and its resources. This innovative process uses advanced biotechnology to transform natural resources into a highly pure oil, minimising environmental impact and ensuring full traceability from raw material to finished product. This makes it an ideal example of sustainable cosmetics, combining the power of nature with modern science.
This highly stable oil contains more than 90% beneficial Omega-9 (oleic acid), which helps protect and strengthen the skin's structure while hydrating it to help protect against premature ageing. It works by moisturising the skin through reducing transepidermal water loss, restoring the skin barrier as a key component of sebum, and providing antioxidant protection against free radicals. Oleic acid supports skin elasticity and softness, helping to prevent dehydration and wrinkle formation. The typical concentration in cosmetic formulations is 5-20%, where it effectively increases hydration without clogging pores.
It is particularly recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, where it effectively combats moisture loss and premature ageing. It is also suitable for oily and acne-prone skin at low concentrations, as it regulates sebaceous gland activity and reduces inflammation. Its anti-inflammatory properties offer a soothing effect for sensitive skin, while it supports elasticity and reduces fine lines in mature skin. Avoid only if your skin is extremely oily and prone to comedones.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) showed that applying an oil rich in oleic acid at a concentration of 10% increased skin hydration by 25% and improved skin barrier function by 30% after 4 weeks of daily use. Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2020) confirmed that omega-9 fatty acids at a concentration of 15% reduce inflammatory markers in the skin by 40% in subjects with dry skin.
Niacin, or vitamin B3, belongs to the B vitamin complex. Vitamin B3 is a collective term for nicotinic acid and niacin. It occurs naturally in foods such as meat, fish, nuts and wholegrain products, but cosmetics use a synthetic form or organic extracts from yeast and plants. This water-soluble vitamin is essential for cellular metabolism and the synthesis of the coenzyme NAD, which supports energy processes in skin cells. In cosmetic products, it is added in the stable form of niacinamide, which is readily absorbed into the skin without causing irritation.
It protects the skin and improves its health. It plays a role in cellular metabolism, helping enzymatic processes function properly. Its mechanism of action includes moisturising the skin by increasing the synthesis of ceramides and free fatty acids, thereby restoring the skin barrier. It has powerful antioxidant properties that neutralise free radicals and protect against oxidative stress. It soothes inflammation by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines and promotes exfoliation by regulating keratinisation. Recommended concentrations are 2-5 % for hydration and barrier repair, and up to 10 % for pigmentation and acne.
Niacin helps the skin retain water, improves the condition of sensitive skin (including skin with rosacea) and strengthens its defences. It is also excellent for supporting acne treatment, both topically and orally. It is useful even for severe forms of acne. It improves the appearance of ageing skin and brightens the complexion, making it suitable for reducing pigmentation and age spots. It plumps and hydrates the skin and prevents water loss. Its benefits extend well beyond our skin and hair. I recommend it for dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin. It is ideal for rosacea, eczema, hyperpigmentation and anti-ageing care, as it strengthens the barrier without clogging pores.
This vitamin is important for the proper functioning of the whole body, and a deficiency can cause fatigue, digestive problems, mental illness and depression, for example. A clinical study showed that niacinamide at a concentration of 4 % reduced hyperpigmentation by 35-68 % after 4-8 weeks in patients with melasma (Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2004). Further research confirmed that 4 % niacinamide reduced acne lesions by 52 %, while 2 % niacinamide reduced hyperpigmentation by 44 % after 8 weeks (International Journal of Dermatology, 2002). High-dose oral supplementation (1 g daily) reduced acne symptoms by 50 % after 8 weeks (Botanic.sk study).
Raw material approved by ECOCERT GREENLIFE in accordance with the COSMOS certificate. A unique product for the most discerning customers. Thanks to its innovative chemical structure, based on a combination of polyglycerol esters of olive oil fatty acids and polyricinoleic acid, this natural, plant-based emulsifier provides the perfect solution for a light, rich and stable emulsion. It leaves the skin feeling wonderfully soft and smooth, retaining moisture through its occlusive properties and preventing transepidermal water loss. It softens and hydrates the skin. This emulsifier is derived from olive oil and castor oil, making it entirely plant-based and suitable for organic cosmetics and certified natural formulations. Its biomimetic structure mimics the skin’s natural lipids, enhancing compatibility with the epidermis.
As an emulsifier, it works in cold-process w/o emulsions, creating stable, delicate structures. It moisturises the skin through occlusion and restores the lipid barrier by mimicking the skin’s natural emulsifiers and reducing transepidermal water loss. It provides excellent sensory properties, including a soft, silky feel, and is highly dispersible. Thanks to its biomimetic properties, it supports hydration and regeneration without clogging pores. The recommended concentration is 2-6 %, depending on the formulation, for optimal emulsion stability.
Ideal for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skin, where it strengthens the barrier and retains moisture. It is also recommended for oily and acne-prone skin in light emulsions, as it does not clog pores and improves the feel on the skin. Suitable for all skin types in organic and natural cosmetics, particularly for those seeking environmentally friendly, biodegradable ingredients without synthetic additives.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) showed that emulsifiers based on olive oil esters at a concentration of 4 % reduced transepidermal water loss by 28 % after 4 weeks of application to dry skin compared with a placebo. Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2020) confirmed that polyglyceryl olivate improves hydration by 35 % and increases skin elasticity by 22 % after 6 weeks in women with mature skin.
Lactic acid is a plant-derived acid produced by fermentation. This natural process involves the microbial fermentation of sugars from maize, sugar cane or beet, making it a renewable and environmentally friendly raw material. It can also be obtained from milk through bacterial fermentation, but plant sources are preferred in modern cosmetics for vegan and certified organic products. It occurs naturally in certain fruits and fermented foods, confirming its biological origin. Synthetic variants are less common, as the fermentation method ensures high purity and biological compatibility with the skin. In organic cosmetics, it is used as an extract from natural sources, supporting sustainable production.
It is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that smooths and rejuvenates the skin, supports cell renewal and improves skin elasticity. It works through exfoliation: it penetrates the upper layers of the epidermis, where it loosens dead skin cells by breaking down the bonds between them, accelerating natural regeneration. It hydrates the skin by increasing the synthesis of ceramides and hyaluronic acid in the skin, restores the lipid barrier and acts as an antioxidant against free radicals. It soothes irritation and reduces inflammation. The recommended concentration is 5-10 % for at-home skincare, with higher concentrations (up to 20 %) used in professional peels under supervision. It is a gentler alternative to glycolic acid in cosmetics. It also acts as a chemical exfoliant (like other AHAs – malic, citric and tartaric acids).
It is particularly suitable for ageing and mature skin. It is recommended for dry, dehydrated, sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin. For dry and mature skin, it boosts hydration and stimulates collagen production; for sensitive skin, it soothes without irritation; and for oily and acne-prone skin, it regulates sebum and clears pores. Avoid use on open wounds or on extremely sensitive skin without a patch test. BENEFITS: exfoliates the skin's surface – speeds up skin cell renewal by removing dead skin cells (even more gently than physical exfoliation), improves overall skin texture, reduces pore size and leaves the complexion looking even and radiant, removes excess sebum, increases skin hydration, helps slow the natural ageing process by stimulating collagen production, helps fade pigmentation marks and improves the condition of sun-damaged skin.
Clinical studies confirm its effectiveness: lactic acid at a concentration of 12 %, used 3x a week for 12 weeks, improved skin hydration by 81 % and reduced fine lines in women with photoaged skin (Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2008). Another study showed that a 5 % lactic acid solution increased ceramide synthesis in the stratum corneum by 77 % after 7 days of application, restoring the skin barrier (British Journal of Dermatology, 1996). These results highlight its gentle yet effective impact on skin structure.
Dulcia natural uses alcohol in its Night Facial Essence and Retinol booster - night care products. Formulations of these products with and without alcohol were tested over an extended period. The results showed that the skin responds more quickly and the intended effect is achieved sooner and with better results when alcohol is included in the formula. The product was tested on our volunteers for 6 months. Women with various skin types took part in the test. No irritation or dryness was recorded in any case, so this product is suitable for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin. Alcohol is a clear, colourless liquid with a characteristic alcoholic smell. It is most commonly produced by fermenting simple carbohydrates using yeast. It is made from a prepared sugar solution or from crops such as potatoes, maize or sugar cane. Ethanol can also be produced synthetically.
It increases skin permeability, allowing other substances (particularly active ingredients) to be absorbed more quickly, enhancing their effects. It has antimicrobial properties. It is generally recommended for combination and oilier skin, as it helps regulate sebaceous gland activity. At lower concentrations, it does not harm sensitive or dry skin either. Alcohol is an essential ingredient in some cosmetic products. It helps active ingredients absorb into the skin, greatly improves their penetration and helps vitamins reach the skin. It also replaces preservatives. Alcohol helps retain fragrance essences, acts against bacteria, speeds up the penetration of active ingredients into the skin and regulates sebum production. As alcohol evaporates quickly, it creates a mild cooling effect after a product containing it is applied, and also has astringent (tightening) properties. Low-molecular-weight alcohols such as ethanol at concentrations above 20 % in leave-on products temporarily reduce skin barrier integrity and increase transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Alcohol is suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin, when used at an appropriate concentration in a well-balanced formula. We particularly recommend it for oily and combination skin, where it regulates sebaceous gland activity and provides a mattifying effect, and also for sensitive skin at low concentrations below 5-10 %, where it improves the penetration of active ingredients without irritation. For dry or eczema-prone skin, we choose formulas with fatty alcohols such as cetyl or stearyl alcohol, which restore the skin barrier.
A study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection confirmed that frequent use of alcohol-containing products by healthcare workers disrupted the skin barrier, leading to increased susceptibility to infections and loss of hydration. Further research showed that ethanol at concentrations of 10-15 % in toners can cause stinging and increased TEWL in sensitive skin, while at low concentrations below 5 % in emulsions it improves absorption without significant adverse effects.
Ectoin® natural comes from a natural source – it is a bioactive molecule isolated from extremophilic microorganisms that occur naturally in hypersaline environments. This ingredient is the result of an evolutionary adaptation that allows organisms to protect their cells against extreme conditions. Ectoin belongs to a group of substances known as extremolytes – natural osmoprotectants that enable cells to survive in harsh environments. Its natural origin and complex mechanism of action place it among the most advanced bioactive ingredients in natural cosmetics.
This ingredient works in several ways to restore and strengthen the skin barrier. Ectoin acts as a powerful water-binding agent, retaining water deep within the skin and increasing hydration by up to 200 percent compared with untreated skin. It also acts as an antioxidant, neutralising free radicals and protecting cells from damage caused by UV radiation, blue light and environmental pollution. Its anti-inflammatory action reduces inflammation and supports the repair of a damaged skin barrier, helping to soothe irritation and sensitivity.
Ectoin® natural is ideally suited to sensitive, dehydrated, stressed and mature skin. It is recommended for people with dry, irritated areas, as well as those whose skin is affected by inflammatory conditions. It also brings relief to skin exposed to intense sunlight or environmental stress. Its gentle nature means it can also be used on oily and acne-prone skin without the risk of further irritation.
Clinical studies confirm its significant effects: during a 12-day trial, skin hydration increased by up to 200 percent, and this level of hydration was maintained for a further 7 days after application stopped. After 10 days of regular use, the increased hydration level remained almost constant until day 19 of the study, highlighting its long-lasting moisturising effect.
Alpha-lipoic acid, also known as thioctic acid or ALA (short for alpha-lipoic acid), is a natural organic compound that occurs naturally in the mitochondria of the body's cells as part of enzyme systems. It acts as a coenzyme in metabolic processes involved in cellular energy production. This compound is produced synthetically for cosmetic use, ensuring consistency and availability in skincare products. It belongs to a group of so-called bioactive extracts obtained through biotechnological processes. Alpha-lipoic acid is unique in being soluble in both water and fats (lipids), making it a versatile antioxidant capable of acting in different parts of the cellular structure.
ALA works through its powerful antioxidant properties. It neutralises highly reactive molecules called free radicals, which form naturally in the body and cause oxidative stress and damage to tissue cells. One of alpha-lipoic acid's exceptional abilities is its potential to regenerate other antioxidants – it can regenerate vitamins C and E, restoring their antioxidant capacity. Thanks to its affinity for both fats and water, it penetrates effectively through the skin's protective lipid layer (stratum corneum) into the deeper layers of the dermis. In the skin, it improves hydration, supports skin barrier repair and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, soothing irritated areas and reducing inflammation.
Alpha-lipoic acid is particularly recommended for mature, tired and dehydrated skin with visible signs of ageing. It also delivers excellent results on photoaged skin affected by UV radiation and free radicals. Its antioxidant and soothing properties also make it suitable for sensitive and irritated skin, including skin with concerns such as early signs of acne or inflammation. By helping to brighten the skin and minimise pores, it is also suitable for oily, blemish-prone skin.
Research documents the effectiveness of alpha-lipoic acid at concentrations of 0,5 to 5 % in cosmetic products. A study published in Dermatologic Surgery (2007) showed that ALA at a concentration of 5 % significantly reduced fine lines, increased skin elasticity and improved the overall appearance of the skin in middle-aged women. Scientific observations also confirm that ALA is approximately 400 times more powerful than the combination of vitamins C and E in terms of its antioxidant capacity. This ingredient works particularly well with other active cosmetic ingredients, supporting their penetration and bioavailability and thereby enhancing their therapeutic effects.
First of all, we would like to explain that cosmetic products do need preservatives to prevent microbial growth, product spoilage and potential skin infections that may have long-term adverse effects on your skin. Protecting the product from spoilage, and therefore protecting you, is extremely important. It is equally important to us that the preservative system is mild and gentle and has absolutely no negative impact on your health. Our packaging also plays a significant role in gentle preservation, allowing us to use the lowest concentration of the preservative blend. This blend consists of organic acids and benzyl alcohol obtained through natural processes without synthetic chemicals, in accordance with strict organic farming and certification standards. The components originate from plant sources or microbial processes: dehydroacetic acid is produced through glucose fermentation, benzoic and sorbic acids are isolated from berries or strawberries, and benzyl alcohol from plant essential oils such as ylang-ylang or jasmine. These organic extracts are certified as natural and organic, free from GMOs and pesticides.
The organic preservative blend works by acidifying its environment, lowering the pH to 4-5,5, a level that inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeasts and moulds. The synergistic effect of the blend ensures broad-spectrum protection: dehydroacetic acid inhibits fungal enzymes, benzoic and sorbic acids penetrate the cell membranes of microorganisms and disrupt their metabolism, while benzyl alcohol disrupts cell walls. The typical concentration is 0,2-1 %, depending on the formulation, which minimises the potential for irritation when used with airless packaging. This system contains no parabens, formaldehyde releasers or isothiazolinones, protecting the integrity of natural ingredients without compromising stability.
We recommend this blend for all skin types – dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated or mature – particularly in organic cosmetics for families with children and people with allergies. It is ideal for those looking for a gentle alternative to synthetic preservatives, without the risk of sensitisation at low concentrations. A study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2014) confirms that a blend of dehydroacetic acid (0,5 %), benzoic acid (0,3 %) and benzyl alcohol (0,2 %) achieved a 99,9 % reduction in Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans in emulsions at pH 5,5 without affecting the product's rheology (Darr et al., 2014). Further research in the Journal of Applied Microbiology (2009) showed that sorbic acid used in combination (0,1 %) produced a 4 log reduction in Aspergillus niger within 7 days.
Dulcia natural uses a natural, environmentally friendly system to protect cosmetic products that complies with Ecocert and COSMOS standards. It has been developed to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination. It is designed to provide broad-spectrum protection using optimised, innovative synergistic blends, with environmental responsibility and sustainable development in mind. It is an organically certified formulation designed to protect products and people. All components are included on the lists of preservatives approved for natural and organic cosmetics by the world's most prestigious certification bodies.

100 % natural vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant containing a blend of alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherols. Vitamin E helps protect the skin from UV damage and improves skin texture and moisture levels. Our natural vitamin E contains no chemicals or solvents. Vitamin E supports the skin’s defences and fights the signs of skin ageing – it can improve texture, smooth the skin, increase elasticity, reduce wrinkles and help prevent age spots. It is derived from plant oils such as wheat germ, sunflower and hazelnut oils, in which it naturally occurs at high concentrations, for example 149 mg per 100 g in wheat germ oil. It is a purely natural organic extract with no synthetic additives, retaining its full biological activity.
It renews cells, boosts circulation in the skin and helps retain water in the upper layers of the skin. This vitamin has a very beneficial effect on overall skin vitality, helps with various forms of inflammation and damage, and contributes to scar healing. Vitamin E is the best natural antioxidant. It neutralises free radicals in the skin, slowing the ageing process and reducing fine lines. This vitamin is particularly suitable for use during summer, as it protects the skin from the effects of UV radiation. It works by neutralising free radicals, restoring the skin barrier, providing deep hydration by binding moisture in the stratum corneum and strengthening the protective barrier, offering antioxidant protection against UV and pollution, and soothing inflammation through its anti-inflammatory action. At concentrations of 0,5-5 % in cosmetics, it significantly improves hydration and elasticity.
It is recommended for dry, sensitive, mature and dehydrated skin, as well as skin exposed to environmental stress, sunlight or ageing. It is ideal for those seeking natural protection against wrinkles, pigmentation spots and loss of elasticity, including those with acne-prone skin and scarring, thanks to its healing properties.
A study by Gensler et al. showed that applying d-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate to the skin reduces lipid peroxide formation and oxidative stress, protecting skin cells from damage and providing photoprotective effects. Further research confirms that vitamin E combined with vitamin C increases protection against UVA radiation and supports collagen production. These findings highlight its effectiveness at concentrations commonly used in cosmetics.
Purity 100%. Silica is a solid substance that occurs naturally in various forms, such as sand, quartz and minerals. Its particles are porous and improve the smoothness of powders, while providing an excellent sensory feel. It is available as a natural mineral obtained from quartz deposits, or synthetically produced to a high level of purity for cosmetic use. The porous structure of the particles gives it a high adsorption capacity, which is key to its versatile use in cosmetics.
It acts as a texturising agent, giving cosmetic products a luxurious feel, an excellent sensory experience and exceptional softness on the skin's surface. It reduces the heavy feel of oil-based products and has a high capacity to absorb sebum and oils, helping to control excess sebum and mattify the skin. It works through the physical adsorption of sebum thanks to its porous structure, which absorbs up to 2-3 times its own volume in oil. It is used at concentrations of 1-10 % in powder and oil-based formulations to improve texture and skin feel.
It is recommended for oily, combination and acne-prone skin, where it effectively absorbs excess sebum and helps prevent clogged pores. It is also suitable for normal skin in powder products such as face powders and dry shampoos, where it provides a matte finish and smoothness. It is less suitable for very dry skin, where it may increase the feeling of dryness unless combined with moisturising ingredients.
In a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2015), silica at a concentration of 5 % in powder formulations reduced the visibility of pores by 25 % and improved skin mattness by 40 % after 4 weeks of application to oily skin. Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2008) confirmed that porous silica absorbs 2,5 times more sebum than regular starch, significantly prolonging the matte effect of make-up.
Few people realise just how important a role magnesium plays in our bodies. Magnesium is by far the most important mineral in our body. After water, oxygen and basic foods, magnesium may be the most important element our body needs; it is irreplaceable. It is more important than calcium, potassium or sodium, because magnesium regulates all three, and without it these important minerals cannot bind. Millions of people are deficient in magnesium without knowing it. Recently, awareness of magnesium's essential role in maintaining health has been growing. Nevertheless, up to 80% of people have insufficient magnesium in their bodies, which is a serious cause for concern. This mineral occurs naturally in soil and plants, but modern farming has depleted it, so it is replenished synthetically or from mineral sources such as Epsom salt. In cosmetics, it is used in the form of organic extracts or pure crystals obtained from natural springs, allowing transdermal absorption through the skin.
Magnesium is present in the body in relatively large amounts. Scientists estimate that an adult has up to 25 grams, with half of this amount found in the bones and only 1% in the blood. This mineral needs to be replenished continually, as more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body depend on it. Every cell in our body, including brain cells, needs magnesium. It is one of the main minerals that requires supplementation, as it plays an essential role in the function of hundreds of enzymes, from cell metabolism and protein synthesis to the use of fats and carbohydrates — practically everything. Magnesium is needed not only to produce specific detoxifying enzymes, but also to generate energy for cellular detoxification. In cosmetics, it acts as a humectant that hydrates the skin and strengthens its protective barrier, an antioxidant rich in sulphates that detoxify and protect against free radicals, an exfoliant that removes dead skin cells, and a soothing anti-inflammatory agent. A concentration of 1-2% in scrubs or baths supports regeneration without drying out the skin.
The role of magnesium in the body. Magnesium mainly performs the following functions in our bodies: metabolism of calcium, silicon, vitamin D and vitamin K, activation of muscles and nerves, energy production, detoxification, digestion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, acting as a building block in the formation and synthesis of RNA and DNA, and as a precursor to neurotransmitters such as serotonin. These properties make magnesium ideal for dry, sensitive, dehydrated and mature skin, where it restores hydration and elasticity. For oily and acne-prone skin, it cleanses pores and reduces inflammation, while soothing skin irritated by burns or bites. I recommend it to anyone with a mineral deficiency, athletes to aid recovery, or people experiencing stress and fatigue, as it supports relaxation through the skin.
Unfortunately, many people around the world have no idea that they are deficient in magnesium. Low levels in the body may manifest as health problems such as anxiety, forgetfulness or muscle cramps. Regular intake not only resolves these health problems, but also helps with a range of other conditions. According to a study in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (2017), transdermal application of magnesium sulphate at a concentration of 1% increased serum magnesium levels by 12% after 12 days of bathing and reduced inflammatory markers by 25% (compared with a placebo). Another study published in PMC in 2020 confirms that mineral baths with magnesium sulphate improved skin hydration by 30% and supported regeneration after exfoliation.
The main reason for magnesium deficiency in our diet is that modern farming methods have contributed to its excessive depletion from the soil. Naturally, it is then also absent from crops grown in such soil. The frequent use of artificial fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides makes the problem even worse. To get enough, we need to eat foods grown in magnesium-rich soil, especially green leafy vegetables. To consume the required amount of leafy vegetables, we should drink green smoothies daily or eat and chew a large bowl of salad very thoroughly, preferably organic, which should ensure that it is grown without pesticides and unnecessary chemicals. Taking food supplements containing magnesium is another option. It is also advisable for supplements to contain calcium, vitamin D and vitamin K2 alongside magnesium, as these substances complement one another and one cannot be metabolised without the others being present. One of the best ways to replenish magnesium in the body is through absorption via the skin. Human skin is the body's largest organ and can absorb active ingredients into the body. According to current guidelines, men should consume at least 420 mg of magnesium daily and women at least 320 mg, with more needed during adolescence and pregnancy. However, pay attention to the recommended range, as the healthy magnesium threshold used to be somewhat higher. The more unwell we become, the lower the range gets. If we consume 700 mg of calcium, we should consume the same amount of magnesium.
How can you get more magnesium into your body? As mentioned above, another good approach is to absorb it through the skin. Examples include baths or scrubs with added Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate). Through the skin, magnesium can be absorbed 5 times faster and up to 6 times more effectively than when taken orally. The body only ever absorbs what it needs, so there is no risk of overdose.
Bisabolol is a natural, colourless, oily liquid extracted from the essential oil of German chamomile (Chamomilla recutita). It is a terpenoid found naturally in several plants, although chamomile is its primary source. Unlike whole chamomile extracts, bisabolol is a highly purified active substance, allowing it to deliver consistent, measurable biological activity. This natural ingredient is an ideal alternative to traditional extracts, as it retains the therapeutic properties of chamomile with minimal risk of allergic reactions. In natural cosmetics, bisabolol is used as an effective, safe ingredient suitable for all skin types.
Bisabolol acts on the skin in several ways. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators, such as leukotrienes and interleukin-1, reducing redness and irritation. As a natural antioxidant, it neutralises free radicals and slows photoageing. It also stimulates skin renewal and accelerates repair processes, strengthening the skin barrier. Bisabolol improves the absorption of other active ingredients into the skin thanks to its tenfold higher permeability compared with conventional ingredients. It acts as a conditioner on hair fibres, softening and smoothing them while promoting hair growth.
Bisabolol is an ideal solution for sensitive, dry, dehydrated, irritated and flaky skin. Its antimicrobial properties also make it suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, where it helps inhibit the growth of acne-causing bacteria. It is also recommended for mature skin showing signs of photoageing. As it is non-allergenic and does not irritate the skin, it is suitable even for extremely sensitive skin types. It is used in restorative after-sun gels and products designed to soothe sunburn.
Clinical research has demonstrated the high efficacy of bisabolol: a concentration of just 1 % can reduce skin irritation by 54 %. Combined with ceramide, it accelerates epidermal cell regeneration and supports wound healing. It works synergistically with curcumin and silymarin to enhance its anti-inflammatory effect, while combining it with hyaluronic acid and panthenol enhances its hydrating and restorative effects. Recommended concentrations in skincare products range from 0,2 % to 1 %, with higher concentrations above 0,5 % potentially providing an additional brightening effect.
It is produced by fermenting a non-haemolytic microbial strain of Streptococcus equi. This process ensures sustainable biotechnological production with high purity and an environmentally friendly approach. HyRetin is created by chemically modifying hyaluronic acid with a very low molecular weight of 10-20 kDa, linking it to retinoic acid through an ester bond. It is an advanced bioextract that combines natural fermentation methods with synthetic modification for optimal stability and bioavailability. This derivative is more stable than conventional forms of retinol, allowing it to retain its efficacy for longer in cosmetic formulations without degradation.
Its mechanism of action relies on deep penetration into the skin thanks to its low molecular weight, where it moisturises, restores the skin barrier and acts as a powerful antioxidant. It stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and fibronectin, accelerates cell regeneration, gently exfoliates without irritation and soothes inflammation. Hyaluronic acid acts as a delivery system for retinoic acid, which does not activate receptors associated with sensitivity but specifically supports skin metabolism. The recommended concentration is 0,1-0,5 % in serums or creams for visible results without the risk of irritation.
It is recommended for dry, dehydrated, mature and sensitive skin, as well as oily and acne-prone skin susceptible to inflammation. It is ideal for people with hyperpigmentation, wrinkles or loss of firmness, including pregnant and breastfeeding women, as it does not cause photosensitivity. Suitable for all age groups from 25 years onwards, it combines the prevention of skin ageing with safety for sensitive skin types.
A 2022 study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology demonstrated that Sodium Retinoyl Hyaluronate at a concentration of 0,2 % increased collagen synthesis by 25 % and improved skin elasticity by 18 % after 4 weeks of application in women with photoaged skin (Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2022). Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2021) confirmed that this derivative reduces the expression of inflammatory markers by 30 % without inducing erythema, unlike free retinol.
The lipophilic extract of Daucus Carota is particularly suitable for mature skin care and anti-ageing care, as well as for protecting the skin from the sun and caring for it after sun exposure. It helps achieve an even, balanced complexion. Carrots are known for their high ß-carotene content, and this extract is further enriched with vitamin E and precious soya bean oil, providing the skin with an optimal dose of vitamin A and other antioxidants. It is a natural lipophilic macerate, obtained by macerating carrot root in soya bean oil, which preserves valuable bioactive substances such as beta-carotene and vitamins A and E. This type of extract is stable, rich in carotenoids and flavones, and has a high sun protection factor of approximately 38-40, making it ideal for preparing the skin before sun exposure and supporting its recovery afterwards.
This extract acts as a powerful antioxidant thanks to beta-carotene and vitamin E, which neutralise free radicals and protect cells from oxidative stress, helping to restore the skin barrier and slow down ageing. It moisturises the skin by supplying lipids from soya bean oil, soothes irritation and redness, supports regeneration and gives the complexion a radiant tone. It also regulates sebum production and evens out skin tone. The recommended concentration in cosmetic formulations is 1-5 % for optimal results without discolouring the skin.
It is particularly recommended for dry, mature, tired and dull skin, where it supports elasticity and hydration. It is also suitable for sensitive skin with rosacea to help reduce redness, for dehydrated skin after sun exposure to soothe it and maintain a tan, and for oily and acne-prone skin thanks to its sebum-regulating and antibacterial properties. For mature skin, it is ideal in anti-ageing serums, and for all skin types in daily care to protect against UV.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (2018) showed that topical application of beta-carotene at a concentration of 2 % improved skin hydration by 25 % and reduced oxidative stress by 30 % after 4 weeks in women with dry skin. Further research in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (2020) reports that ß-carotene in lipophilic extracts increases type I collagen gene expression by 15 % in vitro, supporting the restoration of the skin barrier.
Packaging that helps preserve the quality of the formula
When choosing packaging for LucyLab, we considered how the packaging itself could help maintain product quality during everyday use. We looked for a technically advanced solution that protects the formula, allows precise dispensing and offers simple, hygienic application. That’s why we chose the 30 ml Airless Series Pump for selected serums, emulsions and lightweight creams – modern airless cosmetic packaging designed for active skincare.
Airless system – less contact with air
The airless pump works with an internal piston and doesn’t need a conventional dip tube. As you dispense the product, the piston gradually moves upwards and pushes the formula towards the pump. This system significantly reduces repeated contact between the contents and the air and external environment. It helps protect sensitive active ingredients and is an ideal partner for carefully designed, gentle preservative systems.
Precisely 0.25 ml with each pump
Each pump dispenses approximately 0.25 ml of product. This lets you control how much you use and dispense only what you really need. Precise dispensing helps reduce waste and makes your daily skincare ritual simple and intuitive.
Clean, hygienic application
There’s no need to scoop out the product with your fingers or repeatedly open the whole container. The airless cosmetic bottle allows you to apply the product cleanly straight from the pump, helping minimise secondary contact between the formula and your hands. The practical 30 ml size is ideal both at home and on the go.
Thoughtful materials and easier recycling
The main parts of the packaging are made from PP – polypropylene, while the inner piston is made from PE. Both are recyclable polyolefin materials and are also accepted under the COSMOS standard for cosmetic packaging. The metal-free design also eliminates metal components and supports easier material recycling, depending on local recycling facilities.
LucyLab – functionality, down to the last dose
The packaging is manufactured in facilities certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. For LucyLab, however, what matters most is the result: formula protection, hygienic use, precise dispensing and packaging designed with recycling in mind. Because quality skincare deserves packaging that helps it perform from the first pump to the last.

Do rána mám pleť celú červenú, opuchnutú, ktorá dosť svrbí. Nateraz zostávam pri protivraskovom kréme, ten môžem, tam nemám žiadne komplikácie. Ak by ste mi vedeli povedať, prečo moja pleť takto začala reagovať, či ste nezmenili receptúru. Poslala by som Vám aj foto. Ďakujem za každú radu. S pozdravom Silvia Krčová
