Why we care about the composition of make-up
Make-up often stays on the skin for hours, and some products, such as lipsticks, come into direct contact with the lips. This is another reason why we consider the composition of the products we use every day to be extremely important.
The original materials on which our choice of the Couleur Caramel brand is based draw attention to the many synthetic substances used in conventional make-up – for example phthalates, parabens, certain petroleum derivatives, synthetic preservatives and potentially problematic contaminants. That is exactly why we looked for an alternative based on a different approach to formulation.
Lipsticks
Lipstick is a type of make-up for which composition is especially important. The product stays on the lips for a long time and, with normal use, part of it naturally ends up in the mouth. The skin of the lips is also very delicate and thin. According to several analyses, conventional lipsticks may contain phthalates, siloxanes or trace amounts of heavy metals. Eyeshadows
The skin of the eyelids is one of the most delicate areas of the face. That is exactly why the choice of make-up for the eye area matters. Talc and various synthetic pigments or petrochemical ingredients are often used in conventional powder eyeshadows. In shimmering products, metallic pigments may also be part of the formulation. Couleur Caramel takes a different path – an emphasis on high-quality raw materials, comfortable application and a gentler composition.
