Correcting booster for dark spots
A concentrated booster with 5% tranexamic acid helps target hyperpigmentation and reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun spots, age spots and post-acne marks. This highly effective active ingredient is one of the most advanced solutions for uneven skin tone. It works on the processes that promote excess melanin production due to UV exposure or inflammation, helping to prevent pigmentation from becoming more pronounced. Over time, skin looks brighter, clearer and more even.
This booster is not a serum to be used on its own. With each use, mix 1-3 drops into one dose of the product recommended in your MyLab personalisation. The booster’s lightweight, concentrated formula blends easily with the product, adding targeted care without an extra step in your routine.
MyLab personalisation with a booster
Boosters are highly concentrated products designed to personalise your skincare with targeted care. They add highly active care to your chosen product to meet your skin’s current needs - without having to change your entire routine.
- Choose the product you want to personalise.
- MyLab will recommend a suitable booster based on your skin’s current needs.
- Mix 1-3 drops of booster into one dose of the product in your hand, as recommended by your personalisation.
The result is care tailored to your skin. Always add the booster to a single dose of serum, cream, cleanser or eye care product just before use. Do not add it directly to the whole product container.
What the booster addresses
- Pigmentation: helps target excess pigment production and gradually reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone.
- Age spots and sun spots: helps reduce their appearance and restore a clearer, more even-looking complexion.
- Dark marks left by blemishes: helps brighten persistent pigmentation that can remain after acne or irritation.
- Uneven skin tone and dullness: evens out skin tone and promotes a brighter, fresher-looking complexion.
Who it is for
The 5% tranexamic acid booster is suitable for normal, dry, oily and combination skin. It is especially suitable for:
- skin with pigmentation and uneven skin tone,
- mature skin with age spots and sun spots,
- skin with dark marks left by acne and blemishes,
- dull skin lacking radiance and an even tone.
Key ingredients
- Tranexamic acid (5%): an advanced active ingredient derived from the amino acid lysine. It helps inhibit signals that stimulate excess melanin production following UV exposure or inflammation. This helps reduce pigmentation and promote a more even skin tone. Thanks to its targeted action, it is one of the most advanced and sought-after ingredients for caring for hyperpigmentation, age spots and dark post-acne marks. It helps restore a clear, radiant and even-looking complexion. In a randomised study involving 100 people, the ingredient reduced pigmentation by 27% after 12 weeks.
Texture
The ultra-light, watery texture is easy to measure out drop by drop and blends instantly with serum or cream. It adds no greasiness or heaviness and leaves skin feeling fresh and comfortable, without a sticky film.
How to use
Add 1-3 drops of booster to one dose of your favourite product, as recommended in your MyLab personalisation. Mix evenly in the palm of your hand and apply as directed for the product you are personalising.
Do not use the booster on its own or add it to the whole product container. Avoid direct contact with the eyes and do not use on irritated or damaged skin. Use a product with SPF during the day. Do not exceed the recommended dose - more drops do not mean better results.

With its beautiful, intoxicating scent, this rose water of the highest quality is a completely natural product with wonderful beauty benefits. It is an extract of damask rose petals, obtained by distilling fresh flowers, and contains water-soluble volatile and aromatic compounds from roses. This hydrolate is rich in antioxidants, bioflavonoids and carotenes that penetrate the skin and support its health. Thanks to its strong antibacterial properties, it is made without preservatives, and is hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin. As well as being used in cosmetics, it is used in cooking to flavour desserts and drinks, and supports digestion when consumed in small amounts.
Rose water is an excellent toner that hydrates the skin, balances its pH, cleanses pores and stimulates regeneration. It has strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, disinfects, prevents inflammation and tightens pores. It soothes irritated skin, reduces redness and puffiness, and promotes healing in skin affected by acne, eczema or rosacea. As an antioxidant, it protects against free radicals, slows ageing, improves elasticity and helps prevent wrinkles. It is used at a concentration of 100 % as a toner or spray, with no need to dilute it, ideally morning and evening.
We recommend it for dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone, dehydrated and mature skin. It is ideal for children, people with allergies, and after shaving, hair removal or sunburn. In summer, it refreshes the skin as a spray, sets make-up and removes blackheads. Suitable for anyone looking for natural, alcohol-free skincare.
A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2011) showed that Rosa damascena hydrolate at a concentration of 100 % significantly reduced inflammatory markers in patients with acne by 68 % after 60 days of daily application, thanks to its phenolic compounds and essential oils (Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2011). Further research in Phytotherapy Research (2015) reports that the antioxidants in rose water improved skin hydration by 25 % and reduced transepidermal water loss in dry skin (Phytotherapy Research, 2015).
This is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine, which has long been used in medicine for its ability to influence the plasmin system. In cosmetics, it is used at lower topical concentrations to address uneven skin tone. It is water-soluble, has no pronounced colour and, at the right pH, can be incorporated into serums, emulsions and targeted treatment products.
Tranexamic Acid limits plasmin activation and the subsequent communication between keratinocytes and melanocytes, which increases following UV exposure and inflammation. This may help reduce excess pigment production in melasma and post-inflammatory dark spots. It does not exfoliate or mechanically remove pigment. Results develop gradually and must be supported by daily broad-spectrum sun protection.
We recommend it for skin with pigmentation, including sensitive, acne-prone and mature skin with sun spots, melasma or post-inflammatory marks. Compared with several other acids, it is generally well tolerated, but sensitive skin may experience dryness or stinging. Pregnant people and those with blood clotting disorders should always consult a doctor before medical use, although topical cosmetic doses are different.
A randomised, double-blind study involving 99 patients compared 2 per cent tranexamic acid with 2 per cent niacinamide in a niosomal base, conventional 5 per cent tranexamic acid and 4 per cent hydroquinone. After three months, all groups showed significant reductions in both the melanin index and mMASI, and the tranexamic acid formulations caused less severe adverse reactions (Scientific Reports, 2025).
In cosmetics, it is commonly used at approximately 2 to 5 per cent. Complete solubility, a suitable pH and compatibility with the preservative system are important. Melasma requires long-term use and consistent SPF protection, as pigmentation may return after discontinuing use or following sun exposure.
When using targeted skincare with active ingredients, it is best to start gradually and avoid changing several products at once during the first few weeks. This makes it easier to distinguish the effects from irritation. Visible changes in texture or tone usually require several weeks of regular use. Daily SPF protection, gentle cleansing and a well-functioning skin barrier have a significant influence on achieving good, lasting results.
A multifunctional additive suitable for formulating preservative-free cosmetic products. Both ingredients have intrinsic antimicrobial properties that allow products to be formulated safely with a low potential for irritation and sensitisation. Phenethyl alcohol is an organic compound in the form of a colourless liquid. It occurs naturally in essential oils and has a pleasant floral scent. In cosmetics, it acts as a preservative and fragrance ingredient. It is found in make-up, eye make-up, personal care products, shampoos, perfumes and colognes. Phenethyl alcohol is safe in cosmetics and personal care products at concentrations of up to 1 %. At higher concentrations, it causes mild skin and eye irritation. It poses no risk to the foetus or to pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is vegan and permitted in organic cosmetics. Caprylyl glycol is obtained from coconut or palm oil, making it a naturally derived substance suitable for vegan and organic formulations.

Phenethyl alcohol is safe in cosmetics and personal care products at concentrations of up to 1 %. Caprylyl glycol is used in cosmetics as a surfactant and emulsifier, improving product texture and helping water and oil combine effectively. It is a humectant and skin-conditioning agent that maintains the skin's moisture balance. It also acts as a stabiliser and preservative and enhances the antimicrobial activity of other preservatives. In fact, it is often used in preservative blends. Its multifunctional nature (moisturising and antimicrobial) makes it useful in many cosmetic products. Its mechanism of action involves moisturising, restoring the skin barrier and providing antimicrobial protection; phenethyl alcohol inhibits the growth of bacteria and yeasts at concentrations of 0,5-1 %, while caprylyl glycol retains moisture and enhances the antimicrobial effect at levels of 0,5-2 %.
It is mild and gentle on the skin and can be used in products for children's skin. Allergic reactions to caprylyl glycol are very rare, and it is very well tolerated. It is recommended for dry, sensitive, dehydrated, oily and acne-prone skin, as well as mature skin and products for children aged 0+ years. Its low sensitisation potential makes it ideal for atopic skin, eczema or rosacea, where it minimises the risk of irritation with long-term use.
A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science (2014) demonstrated that a blend of phenethyl alcohol and caprylyl glycol at a concentration of 1 % inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus by 99,9 % and Candida albicans by 95 % after 7 days of incubation, significantly extending the microbial stability of emulsions without traditional preservatives. Further research in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2018) confirmed that caprylyl glycol at a concentration of 1 % improves skin hydration by 25 % after 4 weeks of application in individuals with dry skin.
A small container designed for maximum precision
When choosing packaging for LucyLab, our main consideration is how well it supports the product itself. With highly concentrated formulas, we need to protect the recipe while allowing a small amount to be applied precisely where the skin needs it. That’s why we chose Injector Airless 5 ml – a compact airless cosmetic container with a premium design and an exceptionally precise applicator.
Airless system for better protection of active ingredients
Airless technology uses an internal piston that pushes the product towards the applicator as it is dispensed, without a conventional dip tube. This significantly limits repeated exposure of the cosmetic formula to air and helps protect sensitive active ingredients from oxidation. The closed system also reduces contact between the contents, hands and the external environment. Better product protection allows us to use gentle preservative systems without relying solely on intensive chemical preservation to keep the formula stable.
Precise 0.17 ml dose
Injector Airless 5 ml dispenses approximately 0.17 ml of product per press. The narrow applicator makes it easy to apply a small amount of serum or intensive treatment precisely, without scooping up the product with your fingers. Application is therefore simple, clean, hygienic and controlled – with minimal waste.
A compact format you can keep close at hand
With a diameter of approximately 23 mm and a height of 115 mm, this 5 ml airless container is slim, lightweight and practical for travel. Its small capacity is ideal for concentrated cosmetics that require only a small amount of product.
Thoughtful materials for modern cosmetics
The design mainly uses PP, PETG and PE – materials used in modern cosmetic packaging and accepted by the COSMOS standard. Individual plastic components can be recycled in line with the facilities available in your local recycling system. When choosing packaging, LucyLab follows the principles of the COSMOS and ECOCERT standards, as well as manufacturing quality supported by ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems. The result is a combination of airless protection, precise dispensing, hygienic application and premium minimalist design.
